Historia
It's the spring of 1862. The Confederate Army in the West teeters on the brink of collapse following the catastrophic loss of Fort Donelson. Commanding general Albert Sidney Johnston is forced to pull up stakes, abandon the critical city of Nashville, and rally his troops in defense of the Memphis and Charleston Railroad. Hot on Johnston's trail are two of the Union's best generals: the relentless Ulysses Grant, fresh off his career-making victory at Fort Donelson, and Don Carlos Buell.

Love the viewpoints of people other than a general Officers. The story just wasn’t as thrilling as Gettysburg or Petersburg. Nevertheless, Jeff Shaara is still the best historical fiction writer EVER!

Historia
July 1863. The Confederate Army of Northern Virginia is invading the North. General Robert E. Lee has made this daring and massive move with seventy thousand men in a determined effort to draw out the Union Army of the Potomac and mortally wound it. His right hand is General James Longstreet, a brooding man who is loyal to Lee but stubbornly argues against his plan. Opposing them is an unknown factor: General George Meade, who has taken command of the Army only two days before what will be perhaps the crucial battle of the Civil War.

The movie does an excellent job portraying the actions and personalities, but the book has so many gold nuggets about each person, it’s ABSOLUTELY worth the read.

Historia
Based on remarkable new research, acclaimed historian Alexander Rose brings to life the true story of the spy ring that helped America win the Revolutionary War. For the first time, Rose takes us beyond the battlefront and deep into the shadowy underworld of double agents and triple crosses, covert operations and code breaking, and unmasks the courageous, flawed men who inhabited this wilderness of mirrors—including the spymaster at the heart of it all.

Poorly organized & lacks bigger picture
Revisado: 01-17-23
The story doesn’t follow a logical flow. It’s almost as if they start introducing members of the Culper Ring, then immediately tell every excruciating detail of their life (from birth on). They never really tell how their efforts actually helped the war effort (big picture). Then go into detail, which unless you took copious amounts of notes you wouldn’t be able to follow, about the secret correspondences. The info about the ink and cyphers was tolerable, but the book fell way short for me.

This dramatic sequel to Jeff Shaara's best selling Rise to Rebellion continues his chronicle of the key characters of the American Revolution and animates some of the most compelling scenes in America's history: Washington's harrowing winter at Valley Forge, Benedict Arnold's tragic downfall, and the fiercely-fought battles at Trenton, Brandywine Creek, and Yorktown.

Great Story…..Narration needs work.
Revisado: 01-06-23
The story was amazing as usual however, the narration was not as good as the first book. The narrator in Rise to Rebellion changes his voice for each character. This narrator only starts doing that about halfway into the book, which makes it difficult to follow initially. Once he starts changing his voice for each character, it gets more enjoyable and easier to follow character dialogue. The most irking part was the repeated lines. There was at least a dozen times where the same lines were read twice in succession. It was highly distracting.
OVERALL: Great book, just an average execution of reading or editing the audio.

Historia
In 1770, the fuse of revolution is lit by a fateful command - “Fire!” - as England’s peacekeeping mission ignites into the Boston Massacre. The senseless killing of civilians leads to a tumultuous trial in which lawyer John Adams must defend the very enemy who has assaulted and abused the laws he holds sacred. The taut courtroom drama soon broadens into a stunning epic of war as King George III leads a reckless and corrupt government in London toward the escalating abuse of his colonies.

Historia
In 1942, America's deadliest fighter pilot, or "ace of aces" - the legendary Eddie Rickenbacker - offered a bottle of bourbon to the first US fighter pilot to break his record of 26 enemy planes shot down. Seizing on the challenge to motivate his men, General George Kenney promoted what they would come to call the "race of aces" as a way of boosting the spirits of his war-weary command.
