Another Excellent Story
Revisado: 12-03-24
I was delighted that the second book in the series stayed in the same universe as the first but wasn't a direct continuation of the first story. The story telling is fantastic. I only wish it hadn't concluded so quickly. I felt like the finish was a little rushed, but still a solid 5-star story. Can't wait to read/listen to all of Chambers' stories!

So Much Tension!
Revisado: 11-01-22
First, Sally Phillips is a dream. Second, so is Bob Mortimer. The story telling was fabulous.
I was so tense during so much of this--which I enjoyed because, although I assumed there'd be a favorable conclusion, I was never actually sure--a quality that keeps you in the present of a story. Highly enjoyed, highly recommend!

Y'all need to back off about Fiona Shaw!
Revisado: 09-23-22
I read some reviews before I listened and y'all had me scared to death. And look, Lesley Manville will forever be the voice of Joyce for me, but Fiona Shaw is a stellar actor and I am enjoying her narration a lot. Isn't it possible to express that you prefer Manville without eviscerating an award winning actor?
I am crazy about the Thursday Murder Club characters and am enjoying the story so far, but had to get on here to address the furor, which, in my opinion, is unfounded.

But at her father's house on the banks of the Nile, the priest's daughter Renisenb believes that the woman's death is suspicious. Increasingly, she becomes convinced that the source of evil lurks within their household - and watches helplessly as the family's passions explode in murder.

Narration hindered the story
Revisado: 04-04-15
The story was neat, characters pretty interesting, but the narration was very choppy. . No offense to the author, but maybe she should stick to writing and let the voice talent do the reading. It may have been a money saving measure, but it was nearly a story killing measure.
