A good read
Revisado: 07-18-22
The fight sequences are well done and the characters are believable. It is definitely worth the read.
My only complaint is that the characters can change too quickly. Yes, it is nice to have a good and believable character arc. Just the change in characters were abrupt. Not just one, but all of them. People are not so efficient at change as that. I think we just needed to spend a little more time with them and their interactions together.
However, I believe this Author has a lot of potential and am going to get his next book as soon as I can get my next credit.

Good once it gets started
Revisado: 03-15-19
I had a hard time getting through the beginning. It felt like both characters were saying the same thing over and over and they were annoying. However, once the trials began it became an epic and wonderful book. It was worth it.

Historia
John Perry did two things on his 75th birthday. First he visited his wife's grave. Then he joined the army. The good news is that humanity finally made it into interstellar space. The bad news is that planets fit to live on are scarce—and alien races willing to fight us for them are common. So: we fight. To defend Earth, and to stake our own claim to planetary real estate. Far from Earth, the war has been going on for decades: brutal, bloody, unyielding. Earth itself is a backwater.

Definitely worth a listen or a read. The beginning was slow, but when the action hits the description is awesome.

Historia
“Long live the King” hailed Entertainment Weekly upon publication of Stephen King’s On Writing. Part memoir, part master class by one of the bestselling authors of all time, this superb volume is a revealing and practical view of the writer’s craft, comprising the basic tools of the trade every writer must have. King’s advice is grounded in his vivid memories from childhood through his emergence as a writer, from his struggling early career to his widely reported, near-fatal accident in 1999—and how the inextricable link between writing and living spurred his recovery.

Inspirational
Revisado: 10-04-18
I had no plot or ideas, but I just started writing. It was amazing. I thought I had to have an idea before I started writing, but I put my fingers on the keyboard and it just came out of me. I don't think I have ever said or written the word 'inspirational' before. Enjoy.

Historia
Why is America living in an age of profound economic inequality? Why, despite the desperate need to address climate change, have even modest environmental efforts been defeated again and again? Why have protections for employees been decimated? Why do hedge-fund billionaires pay a far lower tax rate than middle-class workers? The conventional answer is that a popular uprising against "big government" led to the rise of a broad-based conservative movement.

Historia
On his popular science blog, Pharyngula, PZ Myers has entertained millions of fans with his infectious love of evolutionary science and his equally infectious disdain for creationism, biblical literalism, intelligent design theory, and other products of godly illogic. This funny and fearless book collects and expands on some of his most popular writings, giving the religious fanaticism of our times the gleeful disrespect it deserves by skewering the apocalyptic fantasies, magical thinking, hypocrisies, and pseudoscientific theories advanced by religious fundamentalists of all stripes.

Fun read
Revisado: 01-26-16
I was hesitant at first because I read a lot of atheist books and I didn't want to read something that wad exactly the same. I am happy to say that it was a unique read and made me laugh quite a bit.

Discover magazine recently called Richard Dawkins "Darwin's Rottweiler" for his fierce and effective defense of evolution. Prospect magazine voted him among the top three public intellectuals in the world (along with Umberto Eco and Noam Chomsky). Now Dawkins turns his considerable intellect on religion, denouncing its faulty logic and the suffering it causes.

Smart, Funny, and Entertaining
Revisado: 09-30-15
I was worried that as someone who is already an atheist there wouldn't be any new material for me. I was SO wrong. Richard Dawkins has a beautifully curious mind that thinks further on certain subjects than I have. There were several moments where he explained something that I have wondered about for years, or gave me something new to contemplate.

Historia
The human journey is an emotional quest to find truth and meaning. Countless books have presented this journey through the eyes of people who concluded their search with devotion to God, salvation by Jesus, or commitment to religion. But there's a changing zeitgeist in America and the world: a growing number of people are finding truth and meaning from the opposite perspective. Through 25 personal narratives, Generation Atheist tells their stories.

Short and Sweet
Revisado: 10-11-14
Would you consider the audio edition of The Passenger to be better than the print version?
Yes, the narrator was the most talented that I have ever heard.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Passenger?
When the two stories came together. The story had a nice structure to it.
What does Jordan Leigh bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
You can always tell who is doing the talking. I actually thought that it was narrated by a few different people.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The whole book.
Any additional comments?
It was a great buy. It is a well thought out book. The colors and textures created an intense world.
