Good story, narrator not for me

In Dreams isn't my first book with this narrator but I do think I have to skip any others with her. Her voice is just not for me—it takes me out of the story. It's a combination of being too young and too cutesy or something. I just can't ... but the story was pretty good.

Really enjoyed the story

Very enjoyable story and worth the credit. I’m in the minority on the narrator. She consistently reads certain lines in every book she narrates different from how I think it’s meant to be said if you were just reading. She makes certain characters more annoying than they are. She gives them a mocking or whiny or grating tone even when the words don’t indicate it’s called for. In book after book. The way she did Adam’s voice in this book about ruined it. Nasal’y, and so affected. Why? I know she’s talented, I just wish she’d dial back the weird, overly joke’y tones and too-muchness of some of her voices.

Love the narration

I also saw reviews saying the narrator ruined it, but I love this narrator and was happy she was back for this book. I know everyone has different tastes, but I wanted to get a plug in so no one misses a good book. I'll come back to review the story once I'm finished, but I happen to absolutely love her narration.

Narration Ruins It

I don't think I can finish what is probably a good story. I know I'm the minority, but Lori Prince's narration just kills me. It's so over the top and I feel like she sounds like she's narrating for a cartoon or as a cartoon character (Rocky and Bullwinkle come to mind.) It just KILLS any sexy conversation or exchange. Payton sounds unsexy and unappealing—which is a bummer. I reimagine so many of the lines if Abby Craden or another narrator were reading them and it's a totally different story. There is no reason for her to do the voices that way. It's like she's a DJ/stand-up comic/cartoon narrator. And I know this sounds super harsh, but it's happened several times with Lori Prince, and this time is the last because it's taken me completely out of the story. And YET! I know so many people love her narration. When she's not over-doing it, she's super talented, but it's JUST TOO MUCH and IDK what she's doing with her voice when she's trying to do humor, but it's does not, not, not work for me.

Narrator cringe

Like others, the narrators voice, namely for Natalie, was just more than I could bear. Too young, too sappy, too creepy. Story was fine and many scenes were probably wonderful if not for the narration.

Tucker's Voice

I know this is a good story—I do. But I could NOT get past Tucker's voice. It was too off-putting to continue. I might read this one instead because I'm returning this version. The manliness coupled with the accent just made it impossible to endure or believe she was sexy. I do love Lori Prince normally though ... just not this time.
