Historia
Emma Graves was only eight years old when a tragic school bus accident shattered the rural community where she grew up. When the bus was discovered, the driver was dead and Emma, her older sister, and her sister’s best friend were missing. A frantic search through the cold, dark woods in the surrounding area began. As the sun rose the next morning, a cold and terrified Emma was found. Emma remembered little else beyond watching through the fractured windshield as her sister and her friend walked away from the bus to find help.

Narrator should drop the “southern” accents!
Revisado: 12-16-19
The storyline is great. It is a little to drawn out but is well written and mostly kept my attention. I am from Alabama and thought I would enjoy the setting being so close to my home town. The narrator had no idea how to pronounce the towns, seriously mobile is movement. Mobile is Mo-Bill or Mo-Beal, a costal town. When she read the book without trying to sound southern then the story flowed along fine.
The plot is based on a 25 year old disappearance of two teenage girls from a small town. The younger sister returns home and ends up involved in finding out what really happened all those years ago. There were a few twists and some good secrets to the story as well as a few emotional moments. I do recommend reading or listening to the book, but I will not be looking for anything from this narrator in the future.

Everyone has secrets
Revisado: 07-20-19
The Deep, Deep Snow is one of Brian Freeman’s best books yet. I was drawn in with the first paragraph. I found the characters to be well fleshed out and compelling. I wanted to know what happened to each one and enjoyed the many twists brought about by their individual personalities. January Lavoy was spot on with her performance and made listening easy and pleasant. I highly recommend this book for anyone looking for a mystery or thriller.

The Sky Is Falling
Revisado: 04-11-18
Keeping in mind that this series was written as YA, I am wowed. If you go into this expecting it to be realistic, then you may find it falls a little short. As a YA book however, this is non-stop action, amazing narration and the storyline (which continues from book 1) is fantastic.
LiV continues to look for her brother as the world falls apart. Her group of friends expands and so does the trouble they find.
I am looking forward to the 3rd book and hope that it will be out soon. I am ready to find out what happens to LiV and Lucas, and see where this story goes.

Fantasy and Science Fiction Adventures
Revisado: 03-05-18
I purchased this book because for two reasons. The first being that it was narrated by Emma Gavin. She brings characters to life in every book she reads. Trail by Fire was no exception. Emma Gavin gave Lily sass and strength, and made her story come to life.
The second reason I purchased this title was because it was on sale. The price was right and I decided to give it a try. I would happily spend a credit on this book with no regrets. While this is not my usual genre, I found the story to be full of action and it drew me in from the beginning. The first few minutes of the book focus on Lily and Tristan as young teens and it seemed like it was going to be a YA style romance. It does have a few elements hinting of romance but it quickly became a fantastic adventure in science fiction/fantasy.
I’m off to purchase the next book in this series, and definitely recommend this first one to those of you that enjoy fantasy or want the try something adventurous.

Historia
Tenley "Ten" Lockwood is an average 17-year-old girl...who has spent the past 13 months locked inside the Prynne Asylum. The reason? Not her obsession with numbers but her refusal to let her parents choose where she'll live - after she dies. There is an eternal truth most of the world has come to accept: Firstlife is merely a dress rehearsal, and real life begins after death.

Emma Gavin brings characters to life
Revisado: 01-05-18
I was hesitant about purchasing this book, but I found it worth the credit. It is a fantasy of two realms battling for one girl. There are several main characters that are brought to life with by the narrators and easy to fall in love with.
While I read many genres, I tend to lean toward thrillers. I purchased this book during a two for one sale, but my next purchase will be book 2. If you like books along the line of Divergent or Hunger Games, you’ll love this book.

I loved the first book in the trilogy, but this one surpasses all expectations. I almost wish I had not found them until the third book is out. I will be waiting impatiently for the next story. Pete's story is so very intriguing. Highly recommend for anyone who likes a bit of supernatural.

Revisado: 10-13-17
A Dystopian style book without zombies but plenty of creepy characters. The book moved at a steady pace, but wasn't constant 'edge of your seat' action. Personally, I throughly enjoyed the book from beginning to end. I found it to have the the right tone and loved the narration.

Who do you blame?
Revisado: 07-28-17
What did you love best about Blame?
There were a few twists that I a hint about, but did not see the whole picture right away. I like finding a twist unexpectedly.
What did you like best about this story?
When Jane, the main character wakes up, not from the coma, but her self-imposed lifestyle. When she takes control of her life and learns the truth!
Which character – as performed by the narrators – was your favorite?
Jane was definitely my favorite character, but I found myself drawn to David, Adam and Trevor's story lines as well.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Neither.
Any additional comments?
I felt this book was well worth the credit. I listened to it in two days, during a health recovery situation. It was entertaining and did have me guessing a few times.

Gone...
Revisado: 05-26-17
If you could sum up Gone Without a Trace in three words, what would they be?
Thought provoking thriller.
What did you like best about this story?
The premise was different from the start. I loved that it didn't go in the direction I first had in mind. I figured out part of it early on, but there were twists that I didn't see coming. I find many books anyone toward the end, but this one was interesting to the last word.
What does Emily Pennant-Rea bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The narration was perfect for the character. She had a natural rhythm and never broke the flow of the story.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
There were several moments that were touching. As Hannah searched for Matt and remembered how much she loved him. Katie, trying to help her best friend move on with her life.
Any additional comments?
I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it. It isn't the typical cookie cutter read and is worth a credit.

Popular plot lately, but with a bit of a twist.
Revisado: 04-23-17
Would you consider the audio edition of Behind Her Eyes to be better than the print version?
I haven't read the print version yet, so I can't really say.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Louise and Adele. Both of these women have their own issues to face. Louise is slightly more stable than Adele, but Adele definitely gives the storyline a unique twist in this triangle based story.
Have you listened to any of the narrators’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I haven't heard any of these narrators before. They were all in control of their voices, and I could immediately tell which character was talking.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
It was a decent listen, but not enough to pull me away from other things going on in my life. I mostly listened to this while in the bed with pneumonia.
Any additional comments?
I am still not sure if I liked the ending or not. It was different from other books of the same genre and that did give it a few extra bonus points in my opinion. It isn't a book I will listen to a second time, but I did have to finish it to see how it ended.
