Historia
We are accustomed to think of sociopaths as violent criminals, but in The Sociopath Next Door, Harvard psychologist Martha Stout reveals that a shocking 4 percent of ordinary people, one in 25, has an often undetected mental disorder, the chief symptom of which is that that person possesses no conscience. He or she has no ability whatsoever to feel shame, guilt, or remorse. One in 25 everyday Americans, therefore, is secretly a sociopath.

No advice except for ones given 25-30 years ago. Absolutely no tips given regarding being your dog's best friend. if you are comfortable having your dog fear for its life because of your ignorant training methods, then this is the book for you.

Revisado: 12-13-24
The first two stories were great, the third I just pushed myself as far as I could through it. Then, when I couldn't stand another minute, I turned it off.

We Were Wrong
Revisado: 07-22-24
What a moving story. We were definitely wrong about Britney Spears. This memoir brings to mind the story of Rosemary Kennedy and the women who were burned at the stake. Strong females who were punished for being strong.

Too Religious
Revisado: 07-05-24
The story is common and predictable. There is a great deal of talk about praying. I respect other's need to pray but. as a recovering catholic it was hard for me to take. I only mention this to alert other's. I wish someone would have mentioned that in a review as my purchase choice would have been different.

Parts of this story were very intense and there are some horrific war stories included. The end unfortunately, was settled on a simplistic manner. Overall, it was enjoyable.

Historia
Only a handful of people in the world know that mankind's magic comes from a living creature, and it is a refugee from another universe. The Power showed up here in the 1850s because it was running from something. Now it is 1933, and the Power's hiding place has been discovered by a killer. It is a predator that eats magic and leaves destroyed worlds in its wake. Earth is next. Former private eye Jake Sullivan knows the score. The problem is, hardly anyone believes him.

Historia
Porter Beck is the sheriff in the high desert of Nevada, north of Las Vegas. Born and raised there, he left to join the Army, where he worked in Intelligence, deep in the shadows in far off places. Now he's back home, doing the same lawman's job his father once did, before his father started to develop dementia. All is relatively quiet in this corner of the world, until on old, retired FBI agent is found killed. He was brutally tortured before he was killed and clues at the scene point to a mystery dating back to the early days of the nuclear age.

Good Charactor Development
Revisado: 01-05-24
I had never read a book by this author and was pleasantly surprised. I purchased it, more or less, as background noise. Then it grabbed my attention. I like that the characters were not one dimensional. I also enjoy all the different directions the story took.
