Historia
If she wasn’t dead already, Delphie would be dying of embarrassment. Not only did she just die by choking on a microwaveable burger, but now she’s standing in her ‘shine like a star’ nightie in front of the hottest man she’s ever seen. And he’s smiling at her. As they start to chat, everything else becomes background noise. That is until someone comes running out of a door, yelling something about a huge mistake, and sends the dreamy stranger back down to earth. And here Delphie was thinking her luck might be different in the afterlife.

Historia
In the near future, a civil servant is offered the salary of her dreams and is, shortly afterward, told what project she’ll be working on. A recently established government ministry is gathering “expats” from across history to establish whether time travel is feasible—for the body, but also for the fabric of space-time.

total waste of time
Revisado: 09-23-24
the premise and description of the story were brilliant ideas. so much more could have been done with the books concept. but it was just boring and difficult to understand, confusing and depressing. it could have easily been the short story

thought it was predictable...but NOT!!
Revisado: 08-09-24
when stories jump forward and back in time wirh different characters it can get very confusing to track in an audiobook. the author did an excellent job of helping us track all that. at first I thought that the plot was going to be predictable but with every twist and turn I was pleasantly surprised. nothing was so far fetched that it was unrealistic but enough that it kept me guessing clear till the twists at the end. when I react out loud by myself whether it's laughing or talking to the characters it's a sign of a really great book

Historia
Every object has a ghost. There is a small yellow backpack - half unzipped, mouth yawning to the pavement, contents strewn around it (a banana, an exercise book, a pair of scissors) - abandoned on a suburban footpath. Ten feet away, the rubber stamp of tyres, resisting clamped brakes, mount the curb and cut across the path. The tracks come to an end at a crippled stop sign. The street, a tree-lined suburban road dappled in late-afternoon sunlight, is calm. But anyone walking past can feel the ghosts: the prickle on the back of their necks that tells them something happened here.

a riveting ride with an explosive ending!
Revisado: 12-26-23
this book held my interest the entire time. although it went back and forth in time and between characters I was usually able to follow. if I had to take a break I easily picked back up with ease. it was a heart-breaking, hopeful, mysterious, whodunit, and psychological thriller all in one. and the narrators,,,wow! especially the male narrator in the climax chapter of the final confrontation of the suspecrs...it got my heart racing so fast I had to do deep breathing to stay calm!

Historia
Sherman Holmes has officially settled into his new city, and the World's Greatest Detective Agency has opened its doors. While his put-upon partner, Watson, would be happy to keep the jobs as simple as missing pets, when a worried worker with an outlandish tale of ghosts walks in, there's no stopping Sherman from taking the case. Now, the new duo must investigate a local "haunted" tourist site where the scares are going off-script and otherworldly interference is suspected.

Sherlock keeps growing on me!
Revisado: 10-17-23
Just as it's taken Watson a while to figure out Sherlock, I also have taken a while to get Sherlock. I was left drained and almost traumatized after heavy true crime and graphic mystery novels, this is a delightful break with this series of Sherlock and Watson. At first, Watson just seems so off the wall and silly that I thought it was stupid. But the more I listen, the more I get him. This has been one of the few books I've actually laughed out loud while listening to. It's so nice to still have a mystery but to have comedy and thrillers along to make it a fun ride.

starts silly but grows on you
Revisado: 09-10-23
the first 10-15 chapters just seemed silly but I really needed a light funny mystery after a dark depressing one so I stuck with it. by mid book I was finally catching on to the genius behind the surface silliness and by the end I was cheering them both on and wanting more.

Revisado: 08-20-23
this was a great story! kinda time travel but with a twist...love story with a twist...science fiction...conspiracy...mythology...diverse religions...and the twisty surprises at the end were great! despite the twists, turns and time jumps it was easy to follow and understand even via audio read so well by the narrator. LOVED IT!

amazing narrator delivers a gruesome nailbiter
Revisado: 07-29-23
I usually don't indulgent such gruesome crime fiction. But the accolades given the narrator and high ratings convinced me otherwise period they were all right period the narrator is amazing. The story has so much death, twists and terms, and while some of it may seem unlikely, the plot is unfortunately not impossible.

can't finish either...generates secondary trauma
Revisado: 05-24-23
As a career child welfare worker this story was too close to real life.I just don't understand and probably never will how some supposedly loving and caring parents can risk their children's health and safety due to their internal self talk and insecurities. I made it through half the book and this mother was still risking her child's life and making excuses for her poor decisions.I can't stand listening to this any further. it should reveal part of whatever this big secret is a lot sooner because dragging on and dragging the reader through this dribble is inducing secondary trauma. that's NOT enjoyable
