Historia
After a violent coup in the United States overthrows the Constitution and ushers in a new government regime, the Republic of Gilead imposes subservient roles on all women. Offred, now a Handmaid tasked with the singular role of procreation in the childless household of the enigmatic Commander and his bitter wife, can remember a time when she lived with her husband and daughter and had a job, before she lost everything, even her own name.

Great book with an overdramatic performance
Revisado: 04-13-18
I did like this a lot, however Marc Thompson performed Rey as an often hysterical mess. It's just not true to the character of the tough woman the story shows her to be. Maybe it's just because he's a man reading a woman, but it really bothered me, even as a man myself.
Other than that, this fills in a few blanks in the story and while not exactly a classic, is a very fun listen all the same.

Fascinating
Revisado: 10-13-17
An excellent book that is unfortunately overshadowed by the narrator's poor execution of a "British" accent. I'm not sure why that's necessary? Historical people are not characters. Just read the book, please.
