Historia
Here is the kind of authentically detailed epic novel that has become Louis L’Amour’s hallmark. It is the compelling story of US Air Force major Joe Mack, a man born out of time. When his experimental aircraft is forced down in Russia and he escapes a Soviet prison camp, he must call upon the ancient skills of his Indian forebears to survive the vast Siberian wilderness.

Heart stopping
Revisado: 05-11-23
This book was so intense that I had to keep taking breaks because I couldn’t stand listening to it all at once. I had to gear up to turn it back on and listen. It was constant, constant nail, biting. but still hard for me to believe that anyone human being could survive such a task.

Historia
In April 1944, Rudolf Vrba became one of the very first Jews to escape from Auschwitz and make his way to freedom—among only a tiny handful who ever pulled off that near-impossible feat. He did it to reveal the truth of the death camp to the world—and to warn the last Jews of Europe what fate awaited them. Against all odds, Vrba and his fellow escapee, Fred Wetzler, climbed mountains, crossed rivers, and narrowly missed German bullets until they had smuggled out the first full account of Auschwitz the world had ever seen.

This book was disappointing. It was literally a documentary of one man’s war. There was no dialogue. So disappointed in this book

Questionable
Revisado: 10-02-18
This book was a bit too much. Main character, Angel, so frustrating!! It took her forever to find herself among her self pity. It was absolutely ridiculous how many times she left and came back. The story line was good but the times she left and what she did was extremely frustrating to listen too. I was so glad when book ended and will not be reading any more of this authors books.

It has been 12 years since a dark, murderous figure stalked the alleys and courts of Whitechapel. And yet, in the summer of 1900, East London is still poor, still brutal, still a shadow city to its western twin. Among the reformers is an idealistic young woman named India Selwyn-Jones, recently graduated from medical school. With the help of her influential fiance - Freddie Lytton, an up-and-coming Liberal MP - she works to shut down the area's opium dens that destroy both body and soul.
