Historia
Andrew Yancy—late of the Miami Police and soon-to-be-late of the Monroe County sheriff’s office—has a human arm in his freezer. There’s a logical (Hiaasenian) explanation for that, but not for how and why it parted from its shadowy owner. Yancy thinks the boating-accident/shark-luncheon explanation is full of holes, and if he can prove murder, the sheriff might rescue him from his grisly Health Inspector gig (it’s not called the roach patrol for nothing).

Worth the listen if you have seen the show
Revisado: 11-19-24
Having seen the show, the books is better in parts and not as good as the show in others. Andrew is more fleshed out and developed in the book. The other characters are more developed in the show.
My biggest problem was with Arte Johnsons narration. Some of his character voices sound too similar and dialogjcan get confusing. Also he was close to 90 when this was recorded and it makes Andrew sound like an old man. He does Yancey with a middles class NYC accent. For a character who has lived Florida his whole life, how'd he get a NYC accent.

Historia
Somewhere out beyond the edge of the universe there is a library that contains an infinite number of books, each one the story of another reality. One tells the story of your life as it is, along with another book for the other life you could have lived if you had made a different choice at any point in your life. While we all wonder how our lives might have been, what if you had the chance to go to the library and see for yourself? Would any of these other lives truly be better? In The Midnight Library, Nora Seed finds herself faced with this decision.

Interesting and Thoughtful
Revisado: 10-28-24
Narration is first rate. The story moves along at a good pace and by the end you are rooting for Nora as if she belonged to your family. Not my normal read, staying in the Sci-fi or Historical fiction lanes so this was a huge surprise.

Historia
Half a century after the Doomsday Battle, the uneasy balance of Dark Forest Deterrence keeps the Trisolaran invaders at bay. Earth enjoys unprecedented prosperity due to the infusion of Trisolaran knowledge. With human science advancing daily and the Trisolarans adopting Earth culture, it seems that the two civilizations will soon be able to coexist peacefully as equals, without the terrible threat of mutually assured annihilation. But the peace has also made humanity complacent.

Dear God, Make It End!
Revisado: 06-14-24
The concept and ideas are truly imaginative but the non-stop expository writing is like listening to someone read an encyclopedia. Very little character dialog and when there is it is so dry it is sterile. His over use a scientific terms when common language would suffice is needlessly complex.
Usually a writers first book is their least developed but the other seems to actually spend less time on the characters as each book is published.

Did not expect this
Revisado: 01-27-23
I had a credit I needed to use and bought this on a whim. A fun, humorous, and intriguing story. It helps to have a rounded space/physics understanding, but it is more a human story than a science one.

Change the characters and location and it is the DaVinci Code. By the 10th chapter I had the antagonist.

Good Plot Twists

Good story with great detail to the point of being lost. it almost like a tour guide of Italy. The plot is interesting but you spend so much time in the details of the environment you forget about the threat.

Poor narration
Revisado: 01-14-18
The voice actors had very limited range when playing different characters. Women sound like men and everyone has the same accent, even characters from different countries. All characters had two ranges, monotone or excited and nothing in between. The written story is probably better.
