I just listened to this book in completion for the third time. It is straight forward and doesn’t sugarcoat offering promises that are unlikely. Many choices. Many examples & bonus at the end with addition of intermittent fasting. Even offered several options on it. I love how she gives you the Don’ts first. So the Do’s are a reward for staying on track. Bravo!!!

Invaluable Resource Tool!

I love self help books and information that assists with daily life-this book was so brilliant and couldn’t be more useful than the world in which we live TODAY!

So much so-I’m also going to purchase two books he referred to as well as this book in hardcover to use succinctly for reference!!!!

So brilliantly put in layman’s terms so that even those with no professional background can easily grasp all meaning!

Bravo!

Was dead-on and in tune to my inner recesses

I was captivated by the author from start to finish. He has really thoroughly researched not only the signs and symptoms of each area; but also trial and error as well as effective treatment of each diagnosis. I am interested in reading more of his work.

So many emotions stirred

I love Jewish culture. I love the love of family and God. This story tells the story not only from different family opinions; it withholds nothing from the reader/listener. The horror to the Mom, children and even the side of the Father. The results of each. The Mother's years of depression; (for which I can also relate) and how the medication allows her to cope and protect herself. I so admire her younger Son for sharing this with us. And for taking the time to search for his siblings. We live in a society where it is so easy to judge. But instead-see how it is to walk in a person's shoes. I love this story so very much. Enjoy! It made me laugh, cry, cringe, yearn and just be thankful for life itself. Proof that it's never too late to learn. I especially appreciate the Yiddish terminology. And it still has a wonderful ending. Thanks for taking the time to teach as well. L'Chaim!

A Lovely Story that uncovered much!

I am in agreement with various others who reviewed this book stating it gave them a new outlook of C.S. Lewis. I believe the author did a fantastic job revealing so much and allowing us a closer look into the lives of these cherished writers. She showed us their humanity as well as human frailties. Their loves as well as their demons. Splendid read!!! Bravo!!!

Even more enjoyable 34 years later!

I first read this book in school while in the ninth grade 34 years ago for English class. I had an excellent teacher-Mr. Stankewicz (?) made the book delightfully interesting and the entire class elaborated on it.

34 years later, I decided to read it again- mostly because of the similarities between nowadays and the “Big Brother is watching you” correlations: traffic cameras, neighborhood cameras (in high-crime areas) and even strategies to monitor spending habits by luring customers to provide personal info and sign up for savings and coupons via email.

The author does a splendid job of describing what happens when those in power enslave the little or less fortunate people in society.

All in all, I have an even greater appreciation for the book. And especially enjoy the ending and the breakdown of politics for that system and how it has been used in various parts of the world (as in communist societies).

Interesting clever twists

Started off a tad slow but unwound into a story far different than normal. Love the ending; could easily be picked back up and continued. Makes you imagine several possible endings!
