Historia
After Tova Sullivan’s husband died, she began working the night shift at the Sowell Bay Aquarium, mopping floors and tidying up. Keeping busy has always helped her cope, which she’s been doing since her eighteen-year-old son, Erik, mysteriously vanished on a boat in Puget Sound over thirty years ago. Tova becomes acquainted with curmudgeonly Marcellus, a giant Pacific octopus living at the aquarium. Marcellus knows more than anyone can imagine but wouldn’t dream of lifting one of his eight arms for his human captors—until he forms a remarkable friendship with Tova.

A really good story
Revisado: 05-04-25
I've already listened to this book twice and will definitely listen to it again in the future. A story about characters representing really good everyday people. I wish there were more stories like Remarkably Bright Creatures, I give this book 100+ stars.

WOW!!!
Revisado: 03-29-24
This may be a fictional book, but the history from an era that was let down by its country, I learned so much! The story and the narration carried a deep emotion, I could feel the terror and pain from the characters. This book is going to be a hard one to top!

Historia
With courage, grace, and powerful insight, bestselling author Kristin Hannah captures the epic panorama of World War II and illuminates an intimate part of history seldom seen: the women's war. The Nightingale tells the stories of two sisters, separated by years and experience, by ideals, passion and circumstance, each embarking on her own dangerous path toward survival, love, and freedom in German-occupied, war-torn France—a heartbreakingly beautiful novel that celebrates the resilience of the human spirit and the durability of women. It is a novel for everyone, a novel for a lifetime.

Women are stronger then they are given credit for
Revisado: 12-15-23
I have listened to many excellent historical fiction stories about women and their heroics during WWII. For me, this was an excellent, sometimes difficult to listen to story, because of the tragic treatment of women just trying to survive in enemy occupation. The horrors and fear that women of Jewish faith endured and the selfless sacrifices to save their children. The bravery of ordinary women who were willing to risk their lives and stand up to save others (complete strangers), this book brought all of that to life. It felt so real, it felt like I was there, I kept reminding myself, that what I was feeling is not even close to what these women experienced.

Historia
Some places seem too beautiful to be touched by horror. Summit Lake, nestled in North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains, is that kind of place. But two weeks ago, Becca Eckersley, a first-year law student and daughter of a powerful attorney, was brutally murdered there. Now the town is reeling with grief, and the police are baffled.

enjoyed the story and the plot but....
Revisado: 11-17-22
I really enjoyed the book until the end, I felt like there where still questions that needed answering. for instance, why was the autopsy such a secret? why were there two different reports? and why were there so many secrets? who wanted everything kept quiet? i feel these were not answered at the end of the book.

Revisado: 05-07-22
wish I had this teaching 50 years ago. hearing this podcast explains a lot of how I felt growing up (my fears about sex) and how I had tried to pass those fears onto my daughter. thankfully, she is a whole lot smarter than I am about this subject. I'm going to make an honest effort to continue to learn and grow. thank you.

No conclusion to the mystery
Revisado: 05-05-22
I wish the story focused some more on who was sabotaging the team. Too much repetition on the main character's feelings. I ended up fast-forwarding through the sex scenes, it just became so repetitive. Then the story ended without any conclusion, not sure if there is another book, if there is, I think I'll pass.

I'd give this book 10 starts
Revisado: 10-14-20
a wonderful, historical, fictional story. as I listened, I could see the characters and their roles playing in my head. the narrator's and their voices have so much emotion to the characters they were portraying, you felt like Hannie and Bennie were right there. this is one of those stories, for me, that I will listen to again. I highly recommend this audible book.

there is a lot that goes on in this story, it is very fast paced and a lot of questions are raised, but in the end all is answered. the story concluded with a very satisfying ending. the narrator does an excellent job with all the voices. I was hooked from the beginning.
