I have read all the Gray Man novels. This one is burns slower at the start but rewards you with a rich 3.5 hours.

There is not a true evil villain in this gray man, that's a change. Also no evil woman, Brewer is long dead.

Mark Greaney is top notch

This is a huge book and a huge topic. Pure Quality. I am not Russian but I like their History.

I am Hispanic ("Jose") what I would tell Richard Pipes is that we love this Book. It is cited in many Spanish History books too. It is an immortal work.

But the secret treat is that this book contains a PERFECT chapter. Unique and amazing. You have read it for yourself. It is the Natasha Dance chapter of History books.

About as good a Science book as I have ever bought. Start to finish depth on a huge topic that is frequently just one chapter on a general Earth geological book.

The Permian-Triassic Extinction is bigger than the K-T extinction of the dinosaurs. This book gives you depth and detail.

Land Management Policy for Mining

This book is a way to prime the subject, take a long view, and know the players. Long term, You are better off reading frequent articles on Mining.Com because the stories hear are very dynamic. The author is a notable contributor to Mining.Com. This is not a book on mining Engineering, it's about mining politics.

The politics of mining are thick. The combination of land priority is also massive. Fishing, Recreation, Tourism, Religion, Labor Economics, Politics, Biosphere Stewardship, International Trade, Defense Policy, and Climate actions come together in these different stories. You will get some cringy Woke and Climate Hysteria in this book, but it's all in the mix. Why bother with Lithium mining if the Lithium was not so important to battery technology. The author lets the players talk, you get the crazy details. From Extremist Feminist men, to bribe hungry Andean Aborigines, to working class hopes in Arizona, to Entrepreneurs with millions of dollars in the game.

PSA to non Hispanics, "Bolivia" is a fake conjured country. Named for a Venezuelan that never lived there that was an agent of British investment speculators in 1800's. The territory was managed by Spain via the La Plata viceroy. The rural residents had no clue they were "Bolivians" until someone told them so. Peru and Argentina would have gone to war to settle things but all were busy fending off other enemies. The territory given to "Bolivia" was everything that Peru, Chile, Argentina, and Brazil could not agree was their's.

The writer is clever, he demonstrates the contradictions cleverly. Some people think you can 'save the world' with new tech, but you may have to 'radically alter' or 'destroy' an existing eco-system. Or do you? The book talks about recycling too. The eco-systems could be a lake, desert, fishing estuary, or canyon lands. They are meaningful to someone. Lawyers, Diplomats, and Politicians are going to play a role that is going to be on-par with Engineers and Scientists.

This book will change how you think about Nuclear war and the defense mechanisms that could be in place. The book has an all-star cast of expert advisors, so you can respect the author researched this book very carefully.

Probably, the author was allowed to write this scenario because the loop-hole has been fixed. I hope. We need to encourage America's brightest math and science kids to join Space Force and do 3 to 4 years of compensated and voluntary service. My kids are ready to defend their nation, signed up.

Also, we don't need any more nuclear military powers. Rogue states with Nukes need a dedicated Boomer sub with near-by MIRV nukes ready to take them-out. Bombing NOKs and Iran should not require ICBMs. The missles need to be 30 seconds away with no Russia or China flight path.

This is a very cool book. Should be a required reading for people that are not familiar with variation in statistical analysis.

Colorado river is mighty in the scale of desert rivers, but's a small on the scale of water flow - compared to eastern rivers. It would be like Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin trying to live from the flow of the Illinois River without the Mississippi or Missouri. Indeed the Illinois and Colorado have the same discharge rate and with far less consistency.

Great intro to Hydrology. Loved this.

Glad this was a free book. The characters are not sympathetic and the story is more a warning than inspiration. You would not want to know or live near any of these characters. Awful and very dumb people.

This may be the best Gray Man. But how can the 13th book be so good. It is. The story, the characters, the villains, and the conflict are as rich as ever. Mark Greaney I gave a credit for this book, you should charge me 2-credits. I got all the Gray Man's.

Revisado: 05-09-24

I have more Mark Greaney books than any other writer. Just noticed.

(1) Russians are very dumb in this book, maybe too dumb for a WW3
(2) No Americans are dumb in this book, this is kind of cool and inspiring, but makes the story campy. America has people like AOC and Cori Bush in Washington, basically idiots.
(3) The western politicians are smart, that's not realistic. Plus, in some nations the citizens would start blasting their globalist leaders before Russia ever arrived.
(4) Floating an army across the Indian Ocean. Not any more you don't. Hypersonics.
(5) Fighting about Rare Earth Metals? They are not actually rare, just the Chinese REM's are so cheap.
(6) A10's are obsolete these days but a focus of this book. To my personal sadness. Was this book written 25 years ago?
(7) Taking out AFCOM? most computers have backups, so you are not "losing" emails with a lost computer station or person.
(8) You can take an REE mine militarily. But you still need trucks, processing, and bulk logistics to make it produce. Takes years and the processing facilities are more important than the mine. This is a 1850's scenario, not 2020's.
(9) The Poles engage in a resistance struggle versus retreating Russians? More likely they all go to Sweden for a year. No disrespect intended to Poland, but western millennials aren't fighting for anything except a new iPhone.
(10) Tanks in Africa, with no logistics, well, that does not work.
(11) Russia nakedly invading Africa to steal resources? That''s France's favorite scam, no?

I could go on, but Mark G is still awesome. Gray Man is the best. If you read this as the 1900's, it's a cooler story I guess.
