Historia
Reluctant lawyer Andy Carpenter is relieved to be headed back to Paterson, New Jersey, after a week-long family vacation in the Adirondacks. He's ready to put the holly jolly season way behind him and settle in at home with his three dogs. But when they finally arrive, there is an extra dog eagerly awaiting them, as well as one anxious dog sitter. When the dog showed up on the doorstep a few days ago, the sitter knew Andy would know what to do. Indeed, Andy recognizes Murphy, who the Carpenters fostered before the dog went home with BJ Bremer and his mother.

Amazing
Revisado: 03-13-24
From the beginning this story held my attention. It moved at a good pace while at the same time feeling like you were there. I felt like I knew each of these amazing women. Definitely a book I will listen to again. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys listening to a good book with a great narrator.

Historia
This is the story of how a nerdy, homeschooled kid in the church choir named John Stephens became the Grammy-winning, platinum-selling, genre-pushing pop star we know as John Legend. For a long time, he led a double life—excelling as a star student while his home life was in shambles, working in corporate America as a financial consultant while moonlighting as a musician in nightclubs, always straddling a line between the person he was and the person he wanted to be. These are his Words + Music.

Amazing don’t miss this one
Revisado: 01-08-23
Let’s start with I am a 71 year old Caucasian woman who still plays cd’s in the car and I loved this production. The telling of his story while playing songs that were important to his growth was enlightening. I will probably listen to it again just because I can. Don’t miss the opportunity.

An amazing woman
Revisado: 07-30-19
I have never been a movie star fan, so while this book does have lots of information on her career, what I really enjoyed was the story of her life in Austria and her scientific pursuit. She was a beautiful woman with a great brain. I seldom (never) do reviews but would hate for this book to fall below the radar, it's too good to stay hidden.

A major waste
Revisado: 03-12-16
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
No one, a very slow moving book and possibly the worst narration I've ever heard, finally gave it up after about 1/3 through the book.
Has In Deep Voodoo turned you off from other books in this genre?
I've listened to over 300 books and about half fit in this genre. I generally enjoy an easy listening experience as I'm usually doing other things at the same time...
Would you be willing to try another one of Maureen Jones’s performances?
Not if I know it's her
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
None

I felt like I was getting a whole new perspective of the era and the people involved. I learned many facts about Lindberg and Anne that I was totally unaware from previous reading material.
Which character – as performed by Lorna Raver – was your favorite?
Anne

This was an amazing story of survival
Revisado: 04-07-13
What did you love best about The Seamstress?
The story was told with all the horror of the situation and at the same time a feeling of hope. I felt like I was listening to the author telling me what happened over a cup of tea.
What about Wanda McCaddon’s performance did you like?
She did a great job with voices, there was never any confusion about who was talking.
