Great audio performance!

Great story! Well written. Sometimes I was annoyed at Hunter for being sooo immature, but then I adored him for his ability to be so open with Carson when they were together. Looking forward to the next in the series.

Richard Reynolds did a fantastic job of voicing the two characters uniquely, but his portrayal of Hunter just blew me away. Was he really crying when Hunter was crying??? It was such a genuine performance that I would guess he had lived Hunter's life to be able to resonate so deeply with him. So, get the audio. Then get the rest of Richard's books. LOVE LOVE LOVE his narration!!

I was looking for a book where the couple exchange messages before they ever meet, and I came across this story that was already in my TBR list. I loved the way this one started. I was excited about the way it was going and knew it was going to be a favorite. When a particular spoiler-ish event happens, they lose touch. The mood of the story changed entirely and things got a little heavy. It never went back to the light-hearted feel of the beginning, but it was still a really well told story. At the end it was feeling a little "Breakfast Club", but it wrapped up with an HEA in the epilogue.

Both narrators did a really great job, too. Matthew Holland stood out for really performing the part and putting in all the emotions very well.

Unexpected!

Very enjoyable story that gets better the further in you read. The blurb has to be one of the most vague I've ever read. No where does it give you any indication that this is an age gap teacher-student story. It sounds more like a time travel story, but anyway...

I loved the story and thought it had some really unique elements to it. Would definitely recommend!

I. LOVED. THIS. BOOK!

I'm almost exclusively audio, so there are *very* few books I read in print anymore. I read this one before it was released on audio, but I purchased the audio immediately. Roxy Isles performed this story perfectly! I. LOVED. THIS. BOOK!

Let me just give you a list of the things I loved... off the top of my head...
1. Strong heroine. Holy crap does this woman have the fortitude of the toughest men.
2. Action packed. From the very beginning this tale starts off with a chase and never slows down the entire story.
3. A bad-boy hero that chases her to the ends of the earth because he *knows* he wants only her. And she knows he will always come for her.
4. A good-guy hero that isn't all *that* good. He can't help but push away from her, and then be drawn right back in.
5. Friends that have her back. Forever. No matter what.
6. Villains aplenty. I like that you aren't stuck hating one character through the whole story.
7. **********. Something I can't mention because it's a spoiler. But HOT AF!
8. Creative solutions to problems that seem like a dead end. Where does the author come up with some of this stuff???
9. Pirate theme. I grew up reading Johanna Lindsey's pirate romances and I just don't find the recent books to be as enjoyable. You will feel like you are onboard the ship right next to them!
10. A DAMN FINE, nay, PERFECT ending!

Did I mention that I. LOVED. THIS. BOOK!!!

Cocky Firefighter

I enjoyed the story, and was pleased that it was with characters I had just finished reading about in Cocky Bastard. It wasn't anything spectacular, but it was a fun read if you are exploring the Cocky Heroes. I wanted a story about a firefighter and this was a good fit. Unfortunately, it was a bit cliche -- spoiler removed-- but still good for a 4 hour story.

Narrators did a great job on very different accents. (Carolina Southern and Australian)

Wrong choice for male narrator!

I'd been hearing about the "Cocky Hero Club" books from friends in one of my reader groups. According to the Cocky Hero Club website, "The Cocky Hero Club is comprised of original works of fiction written about the Cocky Bastard series characters and/or in the story settings. Writers may maintain the original authors' characters and settings or add their own."

Before I attempted any of them (currently at 124 books, I believe) I wanted to read the first book in the series just to see what it was all about.

First, I love a cocky bastard hero! Chance had the cocky attitude and the bastard moves (one really big one) down good. Aubrey wasn't a limp noodle so it was an enjoyable story overall. It's really hard for me to separate the story from the narration on this one, though.

The story is told from Aubrey's POV in the first half, and switches to Chance's in the second. Michelle Ferguson gave a great performance and her voice fit the character. My brain short-circuited though and didn't survive the switch. Aaron Abano gave a great performance, too, but his voice did NOT fit the character at all. Chance is 28 years old, but the narrator's voice sounds double that age! Really bad casting choice, in my opinion. I couldn't get back into the momentum created in the first half. I kept thinking of this young woman now with a much older man. It was just weird, and maybe a little creepy.

I don't know if there was enough to really make me want to read the next book in the series, but since they are each stand-alone books, I could always come back to them later. Actually though, I didn't have to make that decision. I realized afterward that I'd already read #2 Stuck-up Suit and #3 Playboy Pilot and enjoyed them. I'm halfway through the series already... might as well continue!

Excellent series!

Excellent series!! This book (#3) started off a little on the down side for one of the characters, and I kept waiting for him to really rise up stronger than ever. He rose, but not with the great ferocity I was hoping for. Loved the ending and how the author brought it all together. The journey was much better than the destination for this series, but the ending was still strong. I look back at Book 1 and realize how much they have all changed since the beginning. Great writing! Great narration!

Best cliffhanger ever!

WHAAAAT?! OMG You can't stop right there!! Aaaaaaaargh!

Well, I knew it was a cliffhanger ending, but damn, it was a really good one!

I'm loving this series! It's going to be one of my favorites this year, assuming the ending is a satisfying HEA of sorts.

Let's go find out... Off to start book 3!

Not your typical RH!

Wow! I went into this story knowing 2 things: Reverse Harem and Cliffhanger ending. I had no idea it was going to be such a unique story. This isn't the typical erotica RH at all. It's a story like none other I have read. But, as with all RH, if you are a 1 man 1 woman person, this won't be for you . (Do I even have to say that for RH?)

The story is magnificently told. The characters are all different and fulfill a different need in her life. And I loved them all for how they fit together like puzzle pieces. (It's also interesting to me that I'm drawn to one a bit more than the others, and I wonder why. Interesting.)

There are some elements that are BDSM-ish, but it still fits the dominant male character and his love for his sub. (My terms, not the author's.)

Do I even need to mention how great Jo Raylan is as narrator? She's easily one of my top female favorites!

OK, I'm done rambling. I need to get on to book 2 ASAP!

Perfect short story rom-com

You know any book titled "Just the Tip" is gonna be funny. LJ Shen and Helena Hunting?! I'll take it!

Who knew history was such a turn-on?

Not only insta-love, but insta-marriage-proposal. Ha! (Gotta do what ya gotta do when you only have 1.5 hrs, I guess.) "Other women asked me where I saw myself in five years. Reggie barely asked me for my permission before she sat on my face." Yep, that'll do it!

And when they mentioned "Pictures of You" by The Cure, I might have squealed like a teen fangirl!
