Miranda Priestly… Vivian Carlyle… very very similar story lines, I almost DNFed this one, it was SO beyond frustrating that Jules wouldn’t stand up for herself, and she kind of never really does in some ways, not the ways that would be satisfying! But I had a feeling that once it got good it would be GREAT and I was not disappointed!! As for the spice, it’s been a LOOOOOOOONG time since a scene made me feel like this did! I bought the second book before the first was finished!!

It was amazing, but….

Ok hear me out…. I absolutely LOVE Abby Craden and ANYTHING she narrates, but in this particular book, she pronounces Sabine differently than she did in the first book, and it was HARD to ignore! Like really hard!! Abby Cradens voice is like sunshine in a library! And especially how she makes Rebecca seem so proper, it just melts my insides!! Also tho, while the story was really good, it went on and on and ON with the… should I or shouldn’t I? Does she or doesn’t she? This is wrong but it feels right! It’s all my fault! Which I know is important to a story, but at a certain point I think we have heard her summary of her conundrum enough!

Someone left a comment saying they were so thrown by the twist at the end, so I’m listening to it, thinking “what the heck kind of twist could there be?” The BOOM!!!!!! Def didn’t see that coming! This is my first book by Rebecca yarros besides the fourth wing books, she def has range in her writing and I’ll be looking into her other titles next!

Very very unique

Lately I’ve felt like most fantasy or even romantasy lately has been the basic outline of ACOTAR with just little variations and name changes, but this one I felt was absolutely unique, very well written, and different in a way that’s hard to explain but I’ll try lol it like… there isn’t a lot of the main character questioning herself or obsessing over stupid stuff, that’s a terrible description, but either way it’s a very good thing in my opinion! The narrator took some getting used to and some of the voices were not awesome lol but it wasn’t terrible and I was able to stick with it, not sure yet if I’ll use my next credit on book 2 yet tho

I have never, in all the books I’ve listened to or read, NEVER experienced such shock at an ending! Yet it wasn’t shocking all the same, once it was all done! What I loved most is that every time they expected something, the opposite happened!! I honestly thought this was going to be a book about Kam struggling with her sexuality in the spotlight, and was pleasantly surprised when it was nothing like that! It was AMAZING to read a character that realized she had feelings and just completely went for it! Didn’t spend too much time overthinking it! Something felt good, so she did it! I was thrown when she read the alternate ending, confused at first! It’s not often I’m shocked by books, but this one got me good!! And as always Abby Craden was amazing, in this one in particular tho, the way she captured Kam-Kamryns pain at the end, that was pretty raw!

A little hard to follow

There was definitely a LOT going on, and at times it was hard to keep up with, but overall it was pretty good, will def listen to part 2! Oh yeah I also LOVE that it’s mostly the same voices from Impact Winter!!!

Love love LOVE I abso-freaking-lutely LOOOOOOOVE Robin Alexander!! She is so beyond funny, and sweet, and the PERFECT amount of spice! This one in particular I loved because it continued the first story while perfectly adding in another, and if I’m not mistaken, there was def room to work out a third story, which would just be my dream come true for sure!!! Those little old ladies had me CRYING laughing!!

About to start the third season now!! I LOVED these!! The sound effects were awesome and not overdone, story was awesome, nice twists n such, 100/10 recommend!!
