Character too nosy
Revisado: 09-04-24
I didn’t like this book. Hayley was too nosy and she keep getting her suspects wrong and by time she reach the end of the book she practically accused everyone of murder 😩

Historia
Amos Decker's life changed forever - twice. The first time was on the gridiron. A big, towering athlete, he was the only person from his hometown of Burlington ever to go pro. But his career ended before it had a chance to begin. On his very first play, a violent helmet-to-helmet collision knocked him off the field for good and left him with an improbable side effect - he can never forget anything.

Interesting
Revisado: 08-28-19
Memory Man by David Baldacci.
Primary focus of the plot is Amos Decker dealing with the loss of his family. The book show how badly trauma can effect a person live especially if they don’t get help. The whole memory situation is a plot-hole itself, and if his memory ability is supposed to be so good then why does it take him awhile to figure certain things out, that he should have already realize or know. Decker is highly emotional for obvious reasons, which leads him to do some questionable things and I didn’t feel myself 100% agreeing with them. However, the book is very detail, even the murder scene. The writing is strong and I can tell that he put a lot of thought into it but I can do without those long drawn out chapters.

Historia
It's 1949. When war veteran Aloysius Archer is released from Carderock Prison, he is sent to Poca City on parole with a short list of dos and a much longer list of don'ts: do report regularly to his parole officer, don't go to bars, certainly don't drink alcohol, do get a job - and don't ever associate with loose women. The small town quickly proves more complicated and dangerous than Archer's years serving in the war or his time in jail.

Historical Fiction

One Good Deed, which instead should be titled; No Good Deed Goes Unpunished.
David Baldacci, is an exceptional writer when creating this time piece, it’s true to the era the story takes place in, which is 1949. From the settings, cultures, crimes and corruptions, costume and character, societal expectations, and how women were treated within a male oriented society. To me personally, it has some western feel to it but without cowboys, and have some elements of modern twist and shows how forward thinking some of the characters are. However, the story could have gone at a much more quicker pace, I found myself skipping some chapters due to some parts being dragged out then it needs to, but don’t skip too much you might miss some important parts to the story that will appear later. I can’t tell anything else not without spoiling the story, but I can say this; if you love historical crime thriller, and period pieces and can handle various issues that happen around those time then this is the book for you. The next book I will be listening to by David Baldacci, is Memory Man. This book was actually recommended to me and the titled and plot is very interested, if it’s anything like this book I’m sure it will be good.
