Historia
Dr Nell Ward is in the lush, emerald hills of Ireland, to attend the wedding of two dear friends at a picture-perfect farmhouse. But family tensions are running high in the days before the happy couple tie the knot. And when Nell sees a fox kill a hare in the early morning light, it sends shivers down her spine. Almost like it is a sign of something to come... Then one of the locals makes a gruesome discovery in a nearby peat bog. Famous for the ancient bodies these habitats preserve, what has been found instead is a woman who died much more recently...

Can we get rid of Rav?
Revisado: 12-13-24
I may be the only one but I don’t like Rav. I was hoping Nell and James would have stayed together. Rav always came off as immature and childish to me.

Historia
Lennon Carter’s life is falling apart. Then she gets a mysterious phone call inviting her to take the entrance exam for Drayton College, a school of magic hidden in a secret pocket of Savannah. Lennon has been chosen because—like everyone else at the school—she has the innate gift of persuasion, the ability to wield her will like a weapon, using it to control others and, in rare cases, matter itself.

Unfinished
Revisado: 11-22-24
I had to force myself to finish. The overall idea of the story was good. It was poorly executed. The characters were flat, there was no feeling between characters, there were things that were brought up in the story but never developed or explained. It did a lot of time jumps but it didn’t actually seem like time had passed. So much of the story and world were missing! It felt more of a plot outline of what could be a good book.

Not my kind of story. Just a bunch of people and confusion but nothing mysterious. Just sad realization of life.

Next Saturday, in fact. Just before dinner. So the armies of Good and Evil are amassing, Atlantis is rising, frogs are falling, tempers are flaring. Everything appears to be going according to Divine Plan.

Couldn’t finish
Revisado: 07-31-23
Tries to create suspense when there isn’t any. Jumps around and main character’s thought pattern is so random. No clear idea of plot, ideas or even the character development. It was cringe! The narrator did a good job reading.

Historia
After Tova Sullivan’s husband died, she began working the night shift at the Sowell Bay Aquarium, mopping floors and tidying up. Keeping busy has always helped her cope, which she’s been doing since her eighteen-year-old son, Erik, mysteriously vanished on a boat in Puget Sound over thirty years ago. Tova becomes acquainted with curmudgeonly Marcellus, a giant Pacific octopus living at the aquarium. Marcellus knows more than anyone can imagine but wouldn’t dream of lifting one of his eight arms for his human captors—until he forms a remarkable friendship with Tova.

Cute but slow
Revisado: 10-25-22
It’s an adorable story but uneventful and slow. Doesn’t focus much on the story line. Is overly descriptive about character’s lifes that don’t have any point to the story. Then gives you a tiny blurb of the plot before going off on a irrelevant tangent for a while again. Forced myself to finish.

Historia
"Who am I becoming?" That was the question nagging pastor and author John Mark Comer. Outwardly, he appeared successful. But inwardly, things weren’t pretty. So, he turned to a trusted mentor for guidance and heard these words: "Ruthlessly eliminate hurry from your life. Hurry is the great enemy of the spiritual life." It wasn’t the response he expected, but it was - and continues to be - the answer he needs. Within this audiobook, you’ll find a fascinating road map to staying emotionally healthy and spiritually alive in the chaos of the modern world.

Distortion of politics
Revisado: 07-20-22
It has a good message about rest, taking your time and relating it back to Jesus…THEN he gets political and distorts points and history to make his point. One point that really bothered me was requiring all commerce to stop for one day a week and how this will help the poor. Taking a day of work from people makes them have less money. Like it or not capitalism is what ALLOWS for people to have freedom in how they want to live. Capitalism isn’t the problem, it’s the big global push away from Christian values overall, and the breakdown of family. You want people to be less greedy, more forgiving and understand, and appreciative of what they have…encourage them to live like Christ (which is what the first part of this book is about) NOT SAY ALL CONSUMPTION IS BAD! If this book wasnt a required read, I would have stopped after the first section. It focuses on God, not politics. This guy is also a pastor…and should focus on what he knows.

Can’t find a specific book or chapter. I like to jump around and listen to different passages based on what’s happening in life, there isn’t a table of contents or index for how they split it up.

Get over it!!
Revisado: 10-25-21
The entire book is about this little woman who seeks revenge on this family because of ONE day they all separately were “mean” to her. If she went through my things, broke in to my house and demanded I make her a sandwich…I would have gotten mad at her too!! She needs to spend this effort on building a life she wants, and move on or getting revenge on the people who actually hurt her, not some random family that she walked into their house one day 15 years ago. This whole thing is stupid, I kept thinking something real was going to happen and it’s just a dramatic tantrum.

Historia
Somewhere out beyond the edge of the universe there is a library that contains an infinite number of books, each one the story of another reality. One tells the story of your life as it is, along with another book for the other life you could have lived if you had made a different choice at any point in your life. While we all wonder how our lives might have been, what if you had the chance to go to the library and see for yourself? Would any of these other lives truly be better? In The Midnight Library, Nora Seed finds herself faced with this decision.
