This is a wonderfully written story about about the lengths a parent will go to to save their child. Andy has moved his family to escape his toxic family. As soon as they arrive at their new home, the unthinkable happens. As they scramble to find a close match and a transplant donor for Gabriel, Andy learns more about Laura's parents and and Gabrie's biological father. It is during the this stressful period that Laura begins to gain a sense of confidence in herself.
I really enjoyed this touching story and found myself choked up at times and trying to wrap my mind around Laura's mother's actions at other times. Narrator Valerie Gilbert did a great job voicing each of the characters.
I was given this audio book at my request and am voluntarily giving my honest opinion.

Great Start to a New Series!
Revisado: 07-22-20
I love all of Jessie's books, but Best Friends in the Show Me State is one of my favorites. I'm not sure if it's because I had a male best friend growing up that makes me love this trope so much, but I do. . The story was sweet and the few conflicts added help to showcase the strong connection between Marlowe and Clay. The banter between the two lead characters and their children was very entertaining.
Narrator Jay Dyess have another wonderful performance and there is a very touching moment when he sang a hymn as the group was sheltering from a storm in the basement.
If you are looking for a sweet romance, I would highly recommend that you give this this book a listen.

When Mack’s sister dropped her kids off with his dad in his trailer park, he knew he needed to step up and be an uncle. But he’d told his buddy he’d be in Sweet Water, ND over the holidays, so he takes the children and drives north. Angela Davis had been the sedate, good daddy’s girl all her life, doing whatever her parents wanted, even trying to trap a man into marriage to help them get out of debt.

Sweet Christmas Romance
Revisado: 07-14-20
When Jack's sister dumps her daughters off with his elderly parents, he knows that he has to step in and help with the two girls. Unfortunately, he had agreed to help our a friend over the holidays. Left with no other option, Mack takes his nieces with him.
Angela Davis was raised to be a good girl and to follow directions and almost allowed her parents to manipulate her into a marriage for monetary reasons. Mack,p knows of her past but is in desperate need of help with the little girls.
Another great listen from author Jessie Gussman and narrator Jay Dyess. These two have become my favorite duo! It was also great for Angela to get her own happy ending.

Sloane would rather curl up with a John Hughes movie than walk the halls of Grover High. However, all of that is about to change because on the first day of school she runs into none other than Mr. Sixteen Candles himself, Jake Ryan. Okay, he's not really Jake Ryan, but Gabe has the khakis, sports car, and trademark charm to fit the role. Sloane hopes to pull a Molly Ringwald and win him over with her quirky sense of humor and even quirkier fashion sense, but what she doesn't know is that she and her seemingly untouchable celebrity crush have a lot more in common than they think.

80's Flashback
Revisado: 07-05-20
Seeking Jake Ryan is a wonderfully written book by M.F. Lorain and Jessica Bucher and is my first experience with the two authors writting as a duo. The story centers on Sloane, a huge John Hughes and Molly Ringwald fan, as she tries to catch her own Jake, all while trying to survive high school.
The book is loosly based on one of my favorite teen movies, Sixteen Candles, and reminded me of my youth. I listened to it over the course of a few evenings with my teenaged daughter. We both loved the story and the narration done by Joyce Oven was very well done. I would definitely recommend this book to others and I am going to continue on to next next book in the series with my daughter as my listening partner.

Magic is dangerous. I should know. It got me a 30-year sentence scrubbing toilets for a scumbag wizard. My only hope is the Unleashing, a ceremony that unlocks the dormant powers of magical descendants when we turn 18. Since my mom was a lowly psychic, I don’t expect to be blessed with much more than the ability to forecast the weather. But when the sorcerers unlock my magic, all hell breaks loose.

Teen 1 : Unleashing the Trials
Revisado: 07-05-20
When she turns 18, Jade is required to attend the unleashing to unlock her dormant powers. Her main concern is how to go without her nightmare of a boss finding out. When her magical abilities are revealed, everyone is left in shock and Jade is forced to remain at the academy until she can learn to control her powers. Throw in 3 frustrating but hot bodyguards,a group of mean girls and a spork and you have a humorous story.
The story itself was good but I wish that there was more focus on the story itself less on sex. This was my first book by James and Phoenix and I will try other books by them.

Historia
Roxane Peterson is up for auction. Well, her and her ranch. She knew it would be too much to hope for that the man who bought her would be more interested in her than in the property, and money, that came with her. But she’s been down this road before - a marriage that isn’t perfect. Her only concern now is protecting her son and making sure she keeps her independence. Boone Stryker is disillusioned and restless. Seeing a ranch, and a woman, up for auction challenges his soul and gives him a reason to live again. He risks everything he owns to win the ranch.

Clean Romance
Revisado: 06-02-20
To give her brother the chance to marry the woman of his dreams, Roxanne agrees to allow herself to auctioned off as part of her uncle's ranch. After a previous failed marriage, Roxanne is not expecting much from her new husband; she just wants her son to be happy with life on the ranch.
Although he already has a small ranch of his own, Boone would love the opportunity to own the Sweet Water ranch -- even if he has to marry an unknown woman. To bad it won't be the beautiful woman that he met and danced with at his brother's wedding.
While all of the books in this series are clean romances, this book does handle the subject of premarital sex and the guilt that characters feel as a result. The story was very tastefully written and it is still a clean romance.
The Cowboy's Bargain Bride is book right of the Sweet Water Ranch series , the stories can be read as a standalone (it is my personal preference to read any series in the order in which they are written). Author Jessie Gussman and narrator Jay Dyess have quickly become my favorite duo in the audio world, I would highly recommend giving the two of them a listen.

Revisado: 06-01-20
Madison is a shy librarian who writes romance books at night, the type of books that her Christian parents would not approve of. Along with a group of other writers, she attends a writer's retreat weekend t a dude ranch. While trying to find a quiet place to work on her next project, she meets Cowboy Randal. Randal is working at the dude ranch while hoping to get his own ranch established, he definitely didn't need the distraction of a beautiful guest, especially one who does not share his faith. Will the two be able to find common ground and make their relationship work
This was yet another wonderfully written, sweet clean romance by Kari Trumbo. The characters are very well written and likable. I am looking forward to the other book in the series. Narrator Melie Williams did a great job.

Hickory Grove Series
Revisado: 05-09-20
The Schoolhouse is book one in the Hickory Grove series and is a small town romances by author Elizabeth Bromke. High school sweethearts Becky and Zach dream about their future together, but when they attend different colleges after graduation, things start fall apart. Not long after moving to an out of state university, Becky is pregnant and married to someone else. I really wanted to like this book but it just didn't hit the mark for me. I found Becky immature, after leaving for school she never returned to the home and family that she loved so much. I did admire her determination to fix up the old schoolhouse and preserve a historic landmark. I will be reading the second book in the series.

Great Start to a New Series
Revisado: 05-06-20
When she realizes that her New Year's resolution is identical to last year and that nothing has improved, Crystal decides to go make a big change. After quitting a dead end job and exaggerating her experience with the outdoors, she lands a job as a wilderness guide. Unfortunately for her, on the first night of her first outing, one of the guests is found dead. Until the case is solved, all outings are placed on hold. Needing to keep her income, Crystal begins "assisting" the police in their investigation. This was a fun read/listen that included an quirky cast of characters, a little romance, humor and mystery.
This was my first experience with author M.L. Erdahl but I would love to hear more from him, especially the Seattle Wilderness Mystery series. This was a unique occupation for the lead in a cozy mystery and I would love to see more of Crystal as she tries to find her groove as a wilderness guide and to watch as her relationship with Connor develope. I would definitely recommend this book to others.

Revisado: 05-06-20
What a beautiful retelling of Snow White and Rose Red. I truly enjoy the writing style of Sally Britton. Narrator Jessica Elisa Boyd did a wonderful job with the character's accents, especially the blend of English and French spoken by the three women. I loved strong and honorable Caspar and his relationship with Scarlet. There is romance (clean) and a little mystery, everything that I like a book, I would definitely recommend this book to others, it was a sweet, listen.
