Save your money. Travel cheap. Be smart about your safety. Travel light. Vietnam and China have really good food. Beer is cheap in Vietnam. Now you don't have to read the book.

Historia
Comtesse Valtesse de la Bigne was painted by Édouard Manet and inspired Émile Zola, who immortalized her in his scandalous novel Nana. Her rumored affairs with Napoleon III and the future King Edward VII kept gossip columns full. But her glamorous existence hid a dark secret: She was no comtesse. She was born into abject poverty, raised on a squalid backstreet among the dregs of Parisian society. Yet she transformed herself into an enchantress.

Ending was too abrupt...
Revisado: 04-19-17
Might have given it five stars if it were not for the very abrupt ending. I plan to watch the movie now. Hopefully it does not leave me hanging as the book did. I did enjoy the narrator. His performance and voice was quite enjoyable.

Wow! Beautiful book!
Revisado: 01-03-17
I have listened to this book three times now. That is how good it is. There are no slow parts and the readers performance was exceptional. I am a huge fan of Josephine Bonaparte and it was interesting to hear someone else's view of her and Napoleon.
Desiree considered herself stupid. I have to completely disagree. She was quick witted and was smart enough to think things through before acting. I have to say she was a bit naughty though calling one of her friends "horse face" and said another acquaintance had a "goat face.". Still though she was a kind, generous and sweet person.
If you have an interest in Napoleon and this era then I highly recommend this book.

One of the BEST health/beauty books I've ever read
Revisado: 08-21-16
A great read for young and mature ladies interested in looking and feeling beautiful. Christy shares some of her best beauty, health and well being tips with an up beat attitude and love for life. Being able to hear this book on Audible in her voice made it even better. Her zest for life is infectious. I sure do wish she was my neighbor. I know we would be the best of friends and would spend lots of time in the saddle together.

I dare HRC voters to read this!!!
Revisado: 07-10-16
This book was incredible! I'm a retired LEO and enjoyed this book thoroughly! There were quite a few laugh out loud moments and gasps. Actually a lot of gasps followed by "what the hells", "what the f#@$" and "you've got to be kidding me!". These Clinton's are pure pieces of crap and that's putting it nicely. They are only out for more power. They are extremely greedy and not out to help the little people, only to squash them like little bugs. Oh, and the truth isn't in them.. They couldn't even define it if you asked them too. God bless you Gary Byrne for having the courage to write this book and share your experience with us all. And God help us if we are forced to experience another Clinton White House.

Historia
Andrew Roberts' Napoleon is the first one-volume biography to take advantage of the recent publication of Napoleon's thirty-three thousand letters, which radically transform our understanding of his character and motivation. At last we see him as he was: protean multitasker, decisive, surprisingly willing to forgive his enemies and his errant wife Josephine.
