Sleepy Narrator
Revisado: 07-09-23
This book is amazing and written in an incredibly exciting fashion, but you would never know this judging by how the narrator reads the text. it starts off well enough but by the time we get to the island and listen to John Woo's explanation for how they cloned the dinosaurs, the narrator becomes incredibly sleepy. This is a huge disservice because there are tiny little clues in the explanation of the cloning technology as to why the disaster that occurs later in the book was inevitable.
This book needs a different narrator, one who isn't so sleepy when reading the entirety of the text. even better, this book needs a cast of voices if they can't find a narrator who can simulate a dynamic range of voices for different characters, especially for female characters. most of the characters this narrator voices all sounds so similar, so much so that it's difficult at times to understand who is speaking.

Historia
Does free will exist? The question has fueled heated debates spanning from philosophy to psychology and religion. The answer has major implications, and the stakes are high. To put it in the simple terms that have come to dominate these debates, if we are free to make our own decisions, we are accountable for what we do, and if we aren't free, we're off the hook.

This book summarizes the case for compatibilism very well and employs striking thought experiments. The gas pump analogy to different conceptions of free will was particularly striking.
