Top 5 all time books. Wow.

Made sci-fi feel plausible. Could not turn this off, and was unable to turn a new book on for a few days just letting the story process. Such a good book! Highly recommend.

The ONLY reason I gave the story and overall ranking a 4-star review is b/c the PERFORMANCE (narration) for this book just had to be a mark above the rest!!!!!!! I can't imagine having only read and not listened to this book. The narrator was BORN to read this story to us. Very entertaining.

Great Listen!

If you are looking for a book that has it all, look no further: romance, action, sex, humor...what more do you need? This narrator has become one of my all time favorites. She's clear without annoying diction, and vocally portrays the characters perfectly. And the story is fantastic. The author pulls you in to the action and arouses your curiosity immediately, and the sex and romance scenes are not boring or redundant. I could not wait for my next set of credits to kick in before buying the sequel!!

Wasted not one, but two credits!

This narrator was terrible. The story, predictable. I really tried to listen to it...really...I tried. I ultimately listened to the last chapter and that gave me the whole story. I'm so sad I wasted 2 credits.

Very clever...

This was one of the best suspense type books I think I've ever read! Just when I was convinced that I knew what was going on, something swayed me back in another direction. This one truly kept me guessing. Great writing, great story, and the perfect narrator for the main character.

Well. I have to say THE reason I am giving this book only 3 stars is because of the ending. If this were not the conclusion in this series, I would easily give it a 5. I cannot BELIEVE this series has ended with so much unfinished business. Really, Maggie? A 4th book could easily be conjured up with as many questions as I still have about this story. To be fair, the book is great, but the ending just leaves me hollow and desperate to know more about ALL of the characters and their relationships. I hesitate to say more about what is left unsettled, fearing I may ruin the read for fans of this series. Maybe Maggie Stiefvater will read this review and have mercy on us, and create book #4.

Drawn out and then some

The actual meat of this story was great; but the filler was horrible! The relationship between Sunshine and Conn was intriguing and should have been further developed. But what really lost me was all the trivial "commentary." I had to listen to this one in double time to get thru it. This really could have been a great story, if it weren't for so much filler. AND, the narrator did NOT match the character at all.

Oh, how I pined for this book...the waiting for more Sookie and Eric was very difficult! And then to be so let down. I feel like this was a rushed project that didn't get the time and depth the readers were looking for from Harris. Of all the books in the series, this one is on the bottom. I'm very sad. Looking forward to the next one, though...

Not worth the time.

I am historically a Picoult fan, but this was not worth the time it took to listen to it. The narrators were fine; the story lacked...something. Wish I had spent my time focusing on The Help, or Secret Life of Bees, or something by Charlain Harris!
