Historia
Flannery O’Connor’s astonishing and haunting first novel is a classic of 20th-century literature. It is the story of Hazel Motes, a 22-year-old caught in an unending struggle against his innate, desperate faith. He falls under the spell of a “blind” street preacher named Asa Hawks and his degenerate fifteen-year-old daughter. In an ironic, malicious gesture of his own non-faith, and to prove himself a greater cynic than Hawks, Hazel founds The Church of God Without Christ but is still thwarted in his efforts to lose God.

Wonderful narrorator
Revisado: 09-06-22
Typical Flannery O’Connor. I loved the narrators different voices, especially the women’s. He is very talented with that. It’s hard to understand how he knows when to speak with disgust and how do so appropriately. Maybe he had a director.

No specific recommendations
Revisado: 04-22-21
I don’t think this book gave me any new info. I was looking for specific recommendations as to what to eat or buy. It was very light in that area. Wasted credit.

Morale booster & encouagment for single moms
Revisado: 01-10-18
I am a single mom. Single parenting was not addressed in this book at all and the examples were all about well to do children with 2 parents. Even so, this book did for me what a husband doesn't, which is to reaffirm that how my daughter is behaving is normal, and it reaffirmed some things I'm doing right, and showed me some things I'm not doing right. I'd go so far as to say it talked me down off the edge of a nervous breakdown or deep depression. This book helped me improve my relationship with my daughter. It wasn't written for single moms, but I highly recommend it to them. I have no husband to validate my feelings or actions as a parent and so I tend to be more needy of my children and more devestated when they reject me. "Untangled" gave me the validation I needed, and helped me see my daughters behavior isn't because I'm a bad mom, and she isn't always going to hate me. It hurts being rejected by your only daughter who you love so dearly, especially when there is no one to fall back on or you have no friends with teenage daughters to compare notes with. This book put things in perspective for me and showed me its all part of growing up.

Historia
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

Life Changing - Brought me peace again and again
Revisado: 02-09-17
I am editing my review after listening to this book 4 times. I wish everyone would read it and understand it and take inspiration from it like I do. When I am feeling down I listen to it again. I told my shrink he had to get it. I was so proud when 6 months later he showed me that he had it hiding under newspapers on his desk. He said it was pretty good. I gave it to my 67 year old mother, and although she misconstrued the meaning of the book publicly on Facebook, she has since read it and likes to tell me to listen to the book again whenever I am complaining. I noticed a marked difference in the peacefulness about her since she began reading it. I tried to get my 18 year old daughter to listen but she just heard the first part about Bukowski and totally ran with. Based off the first chapter, she thought it was totally Ludacris and had no interest in listening any further. I wish she would. She is soooo uptight. Inspirational. Helpful for acceptance of the struggle and being ok with just not giving a f#?k. A few chuckles in there. Slightly psychologically enlightening. A great narrator who was spot on with the inflections in his voice. I loved the voice of the self awareness panda. That is something I think, unfortunately, people reading the book won't get.

Gave me a new perspective on ADHD. A bit depressing but helpful. Maybe too in-depth for audio.
