The five children find a cantankerous sand fairy, a psammead, in a gravel pit. Every day 'It' will grant each of them a wish that lasts until sunset, often with disastrous consequences. Never out of print since 1902. The Introduction to this edition examines Nesbit's life and her reading, showing the change in childrens' literature from Victorian times.

Everything
Revisado: 08-26-20
8 year old: I liked everything about. :) But, I didn’t like the ending.’
6-year-old: ‘I liked it, but sometimes it was hard to understand what they meant’ (used British slang)
4-year-old: ‘I liked it sometimes, but I like listening to songs better.’
Mom: It kind of felt like a version of Groundhog Day in that there’s a clean slate each morning. It kept the kids’ interest so much that when I got the book for the kids to follow along with the audio they were bummed that there were pictures because ‘it ruins my imagination of what it was like.’
This is a good imagination-encouraging story.
