Historia
In Thorne Manor there is one locked door. Behind it lies a portal to the 21st century, and nothing is going to stop Miranda Hastings from stepping through. After all, she is a Victorian writer of risqué pirate adventures—traveling to the future would be the greatest adventure of them all. When Miranda goes through, though, she lands in Georgian England...and in the path of Nicolas Dupuis, a privateer accused of piracy.

The French accent…
Revisado: 07-05-24
I really liked all of the other books in this series. I’m sure it’s probably a good storyline but the French accent was too distractingly cringe I couldn’t get through it. I tried several times.

Could have been great...
Revisado: 10-16-23
The ending was a huge disappointment. I love twists, but this twist was a cheap trick with zero set up,

Revisado: 05-26-21
This book kept me hooked beginning to end. The author did a great job narrating and bringing the story to life.

I don't usually write reviews, but I LOVED this. Every moment spent not listening to this book was spent looking forward to listening to this book.

Who is Minerva?
Revisado: 06-04-19
Swoon worthy ghost? Check. Mystery? Check. Middle aged woman doing what I wish I could do? Check. I really wanted to love and get lost in this book, it has all of the proper ingredients. Sadly, I just couldn't. The author makes every murder too easy to solve, and Minerva is really hard to root for. I listened to all three stories, and I don't feel like I know much about her. Ben (her ghost companion) is the only reason I kept pushing through.

Beyond belief...
Revisado: 05-13-19
Ive enjoyed this series for quite a while as it is lighthearted and mostly fun. But it is ridiculous and beyond belief that Walt retains his ghostly powers now that he's alive.

Historia
There's something wrong with Ashburn House. The ancient building has been the subject of rumours for close to a century. Its owner, Edith, refused to let guests inside and rarely visited the nearby town. Following Edith's death, her sole surviving relative, Adrienne, inherits the property. Adrienne's only possessions are a suitcase of luggage, 20 dollars, and her pet cat. Ashburn House is a lifeline she can't afford to refuse. Adrienne doesn't believe in ghosts, but it's hard to ignore the unease that grows as she explores her new home.

Could have been great.
Revisado: 01-31-18
This was really good, but it could have been great with a little fleshing out. It felt like the author was in a huge rush to get to the ending, and the only character relationship that ever seemed to evolve was with her damn cat. It would have been nice to know more about her other relationships, but they seemed more like afterthoughts. I thoroughly enjoyed the ending. It kept me at the edge of my seat.
