Flat narration
Revisado: 08-31-22
The story was pretty decent, but the narrator was flat and unemotional. It was worth the credit though.

Historia
Free-spirited and easygoing Taylor Vandenberg left her hometown of Faircombe, Tennessee, as soon as she could, and in the twenty-five years since, she has rarely looked back. She wouldn't change anything about how her life has turned out—having traveled to nearly every country, never staying anywhere long enough to feel stifled. Brooke Watson has known Taylor for her entire life, and lifelong knowledge means that Brooke knows she's trouble: irresponsible, takes nothing seriously, and irritatingly attractive.

Very good
Revisado: 06-10-22
The writing was excellent and didn’t feel like 16 hours at all. The narrator was also very good. As someone from the south, I hate the over-the-top, extremely offensive southern accents that a lot of narrators use. I appreciate that not being the case in this book.

Historia
Ten years ago he killed my son. Today I married him. Ten years ago my darling son Jesse was murdered and our perfect family was destroyed. My strong, handsome boy, so full of life, became a memory, a photo I carried with me everywhere. But today I’m finally close to finding happiness again. My ash-blonde hair has been curled into ringlets. Carefully placed white flowers frame my delicate features. The small, drab chapel has been prettied up with white satin, and there are tiny red hearts scattered on the small table where I will soon sign the register with my new husband.

Meh
Revisado: 02-16-22
I wouldn’t waste a credit on it. It was somewhat interesting, but I had to get past the idea of getting into a relationship with someone you knew when he was a little kid while you were an adult. I never fully could. Of all the ridicule the couple faced, the whole pedophilia angle was never addressed. The great reveal moment was also a little lacking. Right now it’s part of the Plus catalog, so it’s good to listen to if you need some background noise.

Disappointing
Revisado: 04-05-21
It started out only mildly interesting and went downhill from there. The ending was predictable and a letdown. Bummed that I wasted a credit on it.

Love the narration

Robert Rankin is a great narrator. The book took a little too long to come together, but the narration was so good that I was able to wait it out.

Unrealistic
Revisado: 02-19-18
The Louise character was completely unbelievable. No halfway sane person would go to the lengths she did to unravel the mystery of someone's else's marriage. Also, no parent would put his or her child in danger the way that she did. Not believable.
