Historia
Ever since I met my handsome husband Dr Gabe Bonneville, I started playing the role of the perfect housewife. He works hard as a surgeon, so I look after our home, and throw elaborate dinner parties with champagne cocktails for his best friends Hugh and Anita. He’s my safe place and my chance to have the family I’ve always wanted. I’ve managed to hide the mornings when I wake up and see a face in the shadows. I haven’t told Gabe the truth about the woman who raised me, or told him about the therapy I’ve been getting so my secrets stay hidden in the dark.

Dirk Cussler doesn't disappoint
Revisado: 11-25-21
i was afraid that after Clive Cussler died, there would be no more books with Dirk Pitt, but Dirk Cussler has taken over and is following in the spirit of Clive
This book is excellent and it is also extremely relevant due to the current Chinese Regime's expansive politics.

Historia
The acidly funny first book starring the subversive sleuth in one of the most successful mystery series of all time. Fletch is an investigative reporter whose methods are a little unorthodox. Currently he's living on the beach. He's taking more than a little flak from his editor. She doesn't appreciate his style. Or the expense account items he's racking up. Or his definition of the word "deadline". Or the divorce lawyers who keep showing up at the office. So when multimillionaire Alan Stanwyk offers Fletch the job of a lifetime, which could be worth a fortune, he's intrigued.

Historia
A major North American hydroelectric dam is blown up and the largest off-shore oil field in this hemisphere is destroyed in a brutal, coordinated terrorist attack. But there was one factor that the terrorists didn't take into account when they struck the Capitana platform off the coast of Colombia—slaughtering much of the crew and blowing up the platform—and that was the Capitana crew chief Dewey Andreas. Dewey, former Army Ranger and Delta, survives the attack, rescuing as many of his men as possible. But the battle has just begun.

Revisado: 09-03-21
I've been looking for a new writer as I've read/listened to all Brad Thor as well as Vince Flynn books. and finally i think i found the Writer, it's Ben Coes. His hero, Dewey Andreas is my type of here, not perfect but tough. The book was great, although the Offshore bit was a bit alien to me. I've got North Sea experience and i couldn't understand how this rig was set up, but that is just a minor detail. The narrator, Peter Hermann is just fantastic, he made the characters so alive it was scary.

wow, this is an impressive book
Revisado: 07-26-21
For you that might not know about the Arctic, this book is spot on. there is so much "interest" from China and Russia to get the advantage over Europe and Northern America. Their approach night seem innocent, but it's not. So in this book Brad Thor has done excellent work. It feels like being in Oslo, Kirkenes and Longyearcity (Longyearbyen in Norwegian) when listening to Armand Schultz. For someone that has encountered a Polar Bear coming against you on Svalbard, i would say they are really scary. Contrary to Scot, I had a Snowmobile to escape on. The Russian influence in Kirkenes is obvious, and one see Chinese influence getting Stronger, as Brad Thor writes the Chinese are not forgiving. The Independent Nobel Peace Committee chosing a Chinese Dissident, Liu Xiaobo, as the winner in 2010 China took as an official criticism of China, creating big economic issues for Norway. This is the mindset of China, scary as it is so narrow-minded. Brad Thor captures this brilliantly in this book. I've read some other reviews saying this book is boring, i don't understand it- maybe they didn't understand the context ?. For me it was extremely exiting listening to this book. I hope the damned pandemic is soon over so I could once again get to the greatest hotel there is: The Thief in Oslo. The king Crab mentioned is excellent, but sadly an undesired part of Norwegian waters. Soviet Union in the 60's put out King Crab off Murmansk( moved from the Pacific Coast) and being an invasive species it eats the natural inhabitants on the Sea bed, damaging the Eco System.
There were some comments about spreading peanut butter on the corpses in so that the wolves would eat them. I can relate to that, my Akita Inu is hunting my youngest daughters peanut butter sandwiches, she cannot get enough of it. She smells it from afar and comes running, doing her best to trick my daughter to turn away from her sandwich- stealing it. So i truly believe that peanut butter would be effective to get rid of a corpse fast. 😀.
Scot even used my favourite Norwegian expression, Faen.
