Historia
When the great red star Calamity appeared in the sky, some believed the end had come. They were right. Calamity created the Epics: humans with incredible powers they didn't deserve. They could have saved mankind. They could have lifted us into harmony and prosperity. Instead they burned. They slaughtered. They conquered. And then they ruled. Jax has learned all of this the hard way. Orphaned at an early age, he's spent most of his childhood training to be a Reckoner - determined to find the Epics' weaknesses, unlock their secrets, and protect those of us who are still left.

Historia
Overthinking isn't a personality trait. It's the sneakiest form of fear. It steals time, creativity, and goals. It's the most expensive, least productive thing companies invest in without even knowing it. And it's an epidemic. When New York Times best-selling author Jon Acuff changed his life by transforming his overthinking, he wondered if other people might benefit from what he discovered. He commissioned a research study to ask 10,000 people if they struggle with overthinking too, and 99.5 percent said, "Yes!"

A friend suggested I read this book, and going into it, I didn’t know how much overthinking was getting in my way of success. I knew it was a problem, but as the book explained the concept of soundtracks and overthinking, I kept internally exclaiming “THAT’S ME!!! THIS IS WHAT I NEED!!!”. I love the tactics and models Acuff uses to promote action and change. I’m printing out the dual-daily positive mantra, so we’ll see how it goes. I love the idea. His performance was wonderful, and the story is life-changing, in my opinion. Thank you so much for writing this book and sharing with the world!!!

Great Story, and Great New Narrator
Revisado: 10-07-23
I love this series, I read a hard copy originally and I love audiobooks. When I saw how much the series costs on Audible, I knew I had to buy it. I’ve been listening to the series, and the narrator kind of annoyed me. E. B. Steven’s doesn’t really do justice to how I imagine Alex’s personality. I can’t really complain though, with such a low price. I was very happy about the narrator change in the 4th book, though they were pretty serious for all of the characters, which I also don’t think was a perfect representation of everyone, though this book is a little more serious. I can’t wait to listen to the 5th book! I see it’s narrated by the author of this series, so I’m excited to see how he envisions the book!

Amazing book, narration could have been better
Revisado: 10-02-23
Having read this book before, I couldn’t resist getting it on Audible for so cheap. I love this story and was very happy to be able to have the series on hand. However, some of the voices used for certain characters(Alex’s in particular), really got on my nerves after time. I imagine them speaking much differently, for one with more confidence and clarity. I’m hoping the narration will change a bit for the second book, as I bought it as well, though it’s not so terrible that I’ll return it if otherwise. Still, it’s a little disappointing that it’s not up to all of my desires.

Historia
Harry Potter has never even heard of Hogwarts when the letters start dropping on the doormat at number four, Privet Drive. Addressed in green ink on yellowish parchment with a purple seal, they are swiftly confiscated by his grisly aunt and uncle. Then, on Harry's eleventh birthday, a great beetle-eyed giant of a man called Rubeus Hagrid bursts in with some astonishing news: Harry Potter is a wizard, and he has a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. An incredible adventure is about to begin!

Goose girl was one of the first books that got me into some of Shannon Hale's other books. It has an amazing story and is one of the best books I've ever read. It has so many different factors that combine to make it really fun to listen to. It includes intense, adventurous, romantic, and entertaining parts. It is a well written book and I would recommend it for all ages and for those who love a good fiction.

Amazing book!
Revisado: 01-07-20
Enna burning is amazing book. It begins after Goose Girl and is an adventure from the perspective of Enna. I thought it had a great story line and it was cool to see the story of the kingdom continuing. It has more of a serious mood to it but I really liked the way it tied into the whole series. It has war, adventure, and romance all combined to make a great book. I almost wish there was more about Finn and Razo too but we do get more of that in River Secrets, the 3rd book. The performance was pretty good and a lot of the people did a great job, some of the voices don't always match the mood, but for the most part the performers did well. I would recommend this book to young adults and older because it is slightly darker than the first but there's nothing too serious in the book. This book is for those who like a good fiction book.

With all of the pluck and charm of its eponymous young hero, Rachel McAdams (The Notebook, Spotlight, Midnight in Paris) delivers a spectacular reading of Montgomery's beloved bildungsroman. In moments both funny and bittersweet, McAdams' voice is imbued with the spark that has made Anne a much-loved symbol of individualism and cheer for over a century.
