Historia
The man known as Cheradenine Zakalwe was one of Special Circumstances' foremost agents, changing the destiny of planets to suit the Culture through intrigue, dirty tricks or military action. The woman known as Diziet Sma had plucked him from obscurity and pushed him towards his present eminence, but despite all their dealings she did not know him as well as she thought. The drone known as Skaffen-Amtiskaw knew both of these people.

Slow but fascinating !
Revisado: 09-05-19
Starts slow but is worth sticking to it. The plot structure is a bit confusing, especially on audio book, but the individual chapters are immersive and interesting.
Not my favorite Culture book , but it was actually quite good and probably will re listen to it eventually.

good enough sequel
Revisado: 06-19-17
not as captivating as the first one , and there were some very annoying characters whose chapters I just wanted to skip. However, I like where the plot is going so I will keep reading !

good fantasy , so so writing
Revisado: 09-15-16
there's something about Brandon Sarenson's writing that makes the dialogue feel unnatural and stiff. it's a fun and unique fantasy universe however, and most of the time it had me remembering fondly the original mistborn trilogy.
This one is not trying to be nearly as epic, but that's OK. it's a solid fantasy western with an allomantic twist.
However I don't know if I'll bother continuing the trilogy. The characters are not that interesting, a bit cliche to be honest, and the performance manages to increase the clicheness. I have a particular issue with the main female protagonist... it's not the first time I've seen this particularly dull and stereotypically shy female character in a Sarenson book, and she makes a reappearance here. It's too bad since the last trilogy featured Vin, who was a downright badass and memorable character. I understand not every girl in a book should or can be a badass, but this one is written as a flat and really unsurprising stereotype (oh she blushed!....again...and again ....and again ...)

Confusing yet exciting
Revisado: 07-18-16
It took me a while to finish because I lost interest in the middle of it. There's a lot of stuff happening and all of it is interning, but like I said, IT'S A LOT.
So it's hard to keep track, especially in the audio book format.
However, it's a beautiful Sci fi book and it leaves you wandering about life and the universe.

Fun!
Revisado: 07-15-16
While I completely missed getting a lot of the 80s references (1989 kid here), as someone who grew up playing video games and a generally self identified geek, I could still relate and enjoy this story quite a lot.
I was hoping it would delve more into the dystopia "real world" earth, and have some deeper meaning there, but I guess that was that.
I would recommend this audio book to anyone who want an easy to digest, somewhat thought inducing and very entertaining story.
Ps- great timing now with all those VR headsets coming out. As fun as VR worlds are, let's not neglect reality people!!!

Amazing! Loved it.
Revisado: 01-23-16
Starts slow in my opinion but it quickly picks up and submerged you into a fantastical brutal universe. Despite how harsh it all is, there's also love, loyalty and friendship and ends up making you feel good at the end - and wanting for more!
