Historia
Stirringly evocative, thought provoking, and often jaw dropping, The Operator ranges across SEAL Team Operator Robert O'Neill's awe-inspiring 400-mission career that included his involvement in attempts to rescue "Lone Survivor" Marcus Luttrell and abducted-by-Somali-pirates Captain Richard Phillips and culminated in those famous three shots that dispatched the world's most wanted terrorist, Osama bin Laden.

Motivating, emotionally captivating, and raw

This book has been an inspiration to me throughout my three reads. The story and stories leading up to the death of Bin Laden will capture the heart of many young men and women I am sure. But the truth behind being an operator, being away from your family, going into the battle space expecting to die, and the strength it requires to face those fears is extraordinary. I’ve read many military non-fiction books and this one stands out. Not just because of the raid on Bin Ladens compound, but because of the vulnerability and hardships the author was willing to reveal to the world.

Historia
I have waited for over 45 years to tell this story, initially because I just wanted to forget the war and get on with making a living and raising a family. The other reason is that, 45 years ago, the American fighting man was not held in very high esteem. No one was ready to hear anything good about the Vietnam War or about the men who fought and died there. This book is less about me and more about the sacrifice, incredible hardships, and heroic actions displayed by the Marine grunts that I had the privilege to treat during battles on the demilitarized zone.

Fantastic Book
Revisado: 10-25-19
I’m a big fan of military non-fiction books. This one happens to be the second Vietnam era book I’ve listened to, as well as my 29th military non-fiction book overall.
Out of all of the books I’ve listened to this one was unique. The words written here by Mr. Miller will stick with me forever. This has become my hands down favorite title that I’ve ever listened to or read.
