Fun for awhile, then got boring
Revisado: 11-17-23
This is the first “book” of this kind I’ve read. I have mixed feelings about it. The voice actors were fantastic! The banter between the characters was great until the end, when it got annoying. Overall, the story was lackluster and felt dragged out. I struggled to stay interested the last 45 minutes of this 2.5 hour story. Let’s just say I wanted to purchase the FMC a sweater and send it to her just to end the story.

It starts with a stolen kiss under an English sky, and it ends with a walk down the aisle. It starts with the President sending his best friend to woo me on his behalf, and it ends with my heart split in two. It starts with buried secrets and dangerous desires...and ends with the three of us bound together with a hateful love sharper than any barbed wire. My name is Greer Galloway, and I serve at the pleasure of the President of the United States.

Needs plot warnings
Revisado: 10-15-23
This book requires a trigger warning, or at least a better synopsis alerting potential readers of the dom/sub and poly aspects of the story. I would not have started the book had I known what the story was really about… On the positive side, the narrator was great and I will look for other books read by her.

Needed more to happen
Revisado: 12-27-22
This is very sweet romance with a steam level of 4 and an angst level of 2. I personally need a little more angst. Much of the story is just the happy couple living their lives. I actually forgot I hadn’t finished the book and was surprised to open Audible with 1.5 hours left yet. But I did finish it, and that last 90 minutes increase the angst level from 1.5 to 2. The characters are well developed and the narrator is fantastic. I just needed more to happen.

Historia
Aislinn Andrews met Lucas Greywolf under unusual circumstances – she caught the escaped convict raiding her refrigerator. But was he a troublemaker who aroused dissidence among Arizona’s Native Americans…or a hero who’d gone to prison for a crime he hadn’t committed? It didn’t really matter now, since Lucas Greywolf had taken her hostage. He was going home to the reservation of his birth, honor bound to pay last respects to his dying grandfather. And Aislinn was his ticket home.

No one to root for
Revisado: 12-03-22
The best part of this story is the narrator. The hero is a complete jerk and has no redeeming qualities. He kidnaps the heroine at knife point, forces her to strip in front of him (which he later admits was purely because he wanted to see her naked), sexually molests her, and repeatedly threatens to hurt or kill her. And then the heroine sees the hero be sad because his grandfather died and all is forgiven. Then, after he gets out of prison, the hero forces the heroine to marry him by threatening to kidnap their baby. I couldn’t finish the book. There was no one to root for; the heroine acquiesced to every one of the hero’s threats even after she realizes he probably won’t hurt her. And the marriage is complete BS. It is repeatedly stated throughout the first half that she comes from a wealthy and influential family. The heroine could easily win any sort of custody fight. There wasn’t enough suspension of disbelief in the universe for me to get on board with this book.

Dramatic but dull romance
Revisado: 12-02-22
I liked the dialogue and character descriptions. I did not like the heroine (so dramatic!) or the unfounded conflict that isn’t really explained. I also prefer steam in my romance novels (this had one 1/10 scene toward the end). The narrator was awesome and adeptly switches between English and Scottish accents.

Heath Holiday. My crush on him has ebbed and flowed over the years, but the day I started working for his construction company was the day I smothered it for good. Sort of. Mostly. It was on my to-do list. Making it a priority would have been easier had he not arrived at his family’s annual Christmas party looking ridiculously handsome in a suit. Then he kissed me. We stepped into an alternate universe and he kissed me.

Sweet HEA
Revisado: 11-29-22
This 2nd installment is better than the first. It’s still a sweet romance, but with a touch of angst and more steam (5/10) throughout the book. It wasn’t a page turner, but If you’re in the market for a HEA that’ll warm your heart, this story is for you. And the narrators are great.

Historia
One week with one little girl—an angel, according to my staffing agency. Acting as the short-term nanny for a single dad should have been an easy way to make some extra cash. Until I show up for my first day and face off with a demon disguised as a seven-year-old girl wearing a red tutu and matching glitter slippers. Oh, and her father? My temporary boss? Maddox Holiday. The same Maddox Holiday I crushed on in high school. The same Maddox Holiday who didn’t even know I existed.

Sweet but dull
Revisado: 11-28-22
The story was a sweet romance. No conflict, angst or misunderstandings. I prefer at least one of those, so I found the story a little dull. There’s one steamy scene (4/10) towards the end. The narrators were great; I’ll be looking for more of their work.

Drags a little but still worth reading
Revisado: 11-20-22
I’m a huge Sandra Brown fan and have read most of her books, old and new. This book is well done, but drags in the middle then rushes at the end. The main character makes no progress on his quest for about 70% of the book, then it all gets solved in 2-3 scenes. Also, I didn’t think the villain reveal made any sense, but other reviewers liked it, so that may be personal preference. The characters are fantastic; there’s a little steam (I always want more steam); and the narrator is great. Overall, worth the read but I’m not likely to read again (unlike Friction-so good!).

Historia
Daisy Lee Monroe thought she'd brushed the dust of Lovett, Texas, off her high-heeled shoes years ago, but she's come back home only to find that little has changed. Her sister is still crazy, and her mom still has pink plastic flamingos in her front yard. And Jackson Lamott Parrish, the bad boy she'd left behind, is still so sexy it hurts. She'd like nothing better than to avoid this particular man, but she can't. Daisy has something to say to Jackson, and she's not going anywhere until he listens.

Predictable and Angst for Days
Revisado: 04-02-22
This book was beyond predictable and annoyingly full of angst. At some points I fast-forwarded through the internal monologues because they were so repetitive. The best part of the book was the narrator, who is always fantastic! I’ve enjoyed other books by this author, but definitely not this one.
**General Spoilers Ahead** The first half of the book is all about the main character working up the nerve to tell her big secret but getting interrupted. But she finds time to have sex with him. Then, of course, the dude finds out on his own before she can tell him. Enter drama and angst. Some big event/ordeal. Then they realize they can’t live without each other and become a happy family.
**Rant Alert** I really wish authors who write the secret baby storyline would research family law. The unsuspecting father always takes legal action to get custody of the kid. That is not how the law works!!! The court is not going to take a child away from their mother, the only parent they’ve ever known, and give that child to the other parent who was a stranger up until recently. That would be so detrimental to child. Also the law doesn’t penalize mothers for not telling the father about the child. **Rant Over**

Good story to accompany chores
Revisado: 01-03-22
I agree with several other reviews. The story drags at times. There is a lot of time wasted with the hero and heroine traversing the country, but nothing interesting happens during those travels. There are a few tense moments, which are very well done. There is way too much inner dialogue. The narrator is fantastic and saved my attention at times. Overall, the story was worth the listen but I won’t be listening to it again.
