Brilliant
Revisado: 07-02-22
This is a brilliant short story that transcends escapist sci-fi adventure and says something interesting and profound about human nature. A fitting closing chapter to a great series—but I still hope there’s more to come.

A Hugely Satisfying Conclusion
Revisado: 06-07-22
The Expanse series has an epic scope and this hugely satisfying conclusion lived up to my hopes for the books. Thrilling, surprising, funny and sometimes poetic, it had the gravitas of old school sci-fi while somehow also being something fresh.

Historia
Deep down here by the dark water lived old Gollum, a small slimy creature. I don’t know where he came from, nor who or what he was. He was Gollum—as dark as darkness, except for two big round pale eyes in his thin face. He had a little boat, and he rowed about quite quietly on the lake; for lake it was, wide and deep and deadly cold.

A great kids book and a great work of literature
Revisado: 03-18-22
This is not only a great book for kids, it’s a timeless and deep work of literature. It’s endlessly entertaining and far more complex than its reputation. The main characters aren’t two-dimensional, and grapple with fascinating questions about loyalty and greed and duty. Andy Serkis’s narration is worthy of this amazing tale. This book and production are brilliant in every way.

The complete unabridged audiobook of J.R.R Tolkien's The Silmarillion. The Silmarillion is an account of the Elder Days, of the First Age of Tolkien’s world. It is the ancient drama to which the characters in The Lord of the Rings look back, and in whose events some of them such as Elrond and Galadriel took part.

Historia
A groundbreaking work of science fiction, The Left Hand of Darkness tells the story of a lone human emissary to Winter, an alien world whose inhabitants can change their gender. His goal is to facilitate Winter's inclusion in a growing intergalactic civilization. But to do so he must bridge the gulf between his own views and those of the completely dissimilar culture that he encounters. Embracing the aspects of psychology, society, and human emotion on an alien world, The Left Hand of Darkness stands as a landmark achievement.

Historia
Irresistible, gripping, and unforgettable, Cane Warriors follows the true story of Tacky's War in Jamaica in 1760. A powerful young-adult tale told through the eyes of Moa, a 14-year-old slave, this fictionalized account of the most significant rebellion of the time is rarely mentioned in history books or taught in schools.

A revolutionary classic
Revisado: 10-24-20
This novel is one of the greatest stories about rebellion I’ve ever read. Tacky stands besides Spartacus, Nanny of the Maroons, Toussaint Louverture, and Nelson Mandela as a revolutionary leader so charismatic, he seems like a legend, but he was very real. This book is inspiring and emotional and perfect for high school students, college students and adults looking for something that will get their book club talking. A stone-cold classic.
