Historia
Thirteen-year-old Prince Kyril and Mags and Amily's 14-year-old son, Tory, "share" the Gift of Farsight - although neither of them are Chosen. They are self-trained, though currently, their shared Gift only allows them to see what is happening with their immediate family members. After much debate, the Herald's Collegium has decided to test and train them anyway. That's when the surprises start. They do not share a single Gift; they have two complementary Gifts working together in a way that the Heralds have never seen before.

By far the best of the Family Spies books
Revisado: 07-22-23
By far and away the best of the three Family Spies books. I love that this book also served to organically wrap up the series’ various loose ends without being obnoxious or feeling like a checklist.

The book is consistent with ML’s typical high quality story telling, but
Revisado: 07-20-23
I found myself discontented with the pacing of the story. I felt that the story consisted of so much “downtime” as to be disproportionate to the length of the book. This is not necessarily a bad thing and obviously hasn’t bothered most listeners, but it strikes me more as a collection of short stories than a complete story in its own right.

Needs another pass with an editor
Revisado: 06-07-23
Awkward word choices and sentence construction throughout. Didn’t love the narrator’s general performance and CERTAINLY didn’t care for her “cultured British accent”.
Regarding the content, I thought the “love story “ was rushed and underdeveloped. The “surprise revelations” were predictable.
This isn’t a good option for a sophisticated reader, but it was an easy listen, and an interesting concept.

Historia
The tide is turning against the colonists in the Revolutionary War, and 18-year-old Elizabeth Morris cannot sit by idly. Quietly disdainful of her Tory parents, who drag her along to society events and welcome a British soldier into their home during their occupation of New York City, Elizabeth decides to take matters into her own hands. She realizes that, as a young woman, no one around her believes that she can comprehend the profound implications of being a nation at war - she is, effectively, invisible. And she can use this invisibility to her advantage.

Needed to have not been written in 1st person
Revisado: 09-06-20
It was much harder for me to feel the sympathy I wanted to feel for the heroin with she being the one to narrate how terrible her plight is. I would have enjoyed it much more had it been written in third person. I did enjoy the historical accuracy.

Christopher Chant has no real power. He can't perform spells or do anything magical. However, he does possess something that most humans do not. Christopher has nine lives. Gerard Doyle's spellbinding narration is sure to capture every listener's attention.

Awkward Narration
Revisado: 05-05-20
There are such long pauses between *EVERY SENTENCE* that each is completely isolated. It's very awkward. Good story, though!

Keep suspense/thriller separate from sexual romance
Revisado: 07-03-19
If you’re going to write a suspense/thriller novel then write a suspense/thriller novel. If you’re going to write a romance novel, then write a romance novel. A sexual encounter - fine. But trying to enjoy a thriller, while suffering through two troubled strangers having regular sexual interludes every other chapter gets really annoying. Which is too bad because the narration is good and the premise of the book is decent. But this is the first and last book by this author for me.
