Historia
Today's feminist movement has a glaring blind spot, and paradoxically, it is women. Mainstream feminists rarely talk about meeting basic needs as a feminist issue, argues Mikki Kendall, but food insecurity, access to quality education, safe neighborhoods, a living wage, and medical care are all feminist issues. All too often, however, the focus is not on basic survival for the many, but on increasing privilege for the few. Author Mikki Kendall takes aim at the legitimacy of the modern feminist movement arguing that it has chronically failed to address the needs of all but a few women.

Hood Feminism Rocks
Revisado: 08-15-20
This is one of the most thoroughly researched books on Feminism overall. It pulls no punches, is eloquent + brutally honest simultaneously + open.
Mikki Kendell is far from hood but the title lets you know, there is no BS here. Its written from a place of love + honesty. Its refreshing, thought provoking + a must read.
Thank you, Mikki Kendell.
Look forward to more works 🙏🏽

Historia
Stuart Stevens spent decades electing Republicans at every level, from presidents to senators to local officials. He knows the GOP as intimately as anyone in America, and in this new book he offers a devastating portrait of a party that has lost its moral and political compass. This is not a book about how Donald J. Trump hijacked the Republican Party and changed it into something else.

Truth-telling
Revisado: 08-13-20
Stuart Stevens laid it all out there.
He told the truth about the Republican party, schemes, wordplay, lies, games + racism.
For those of us who were aware of the harm + flaws it was refreshing to hear such honesty.
I hope folx will read it + realise we deserve better than this. Fight for our Constitutional Republic w empathy, compassion, sincerity + respect for all.
Its a shame this has gone on for so long.
Not sure the party or those disenchanted have the wherewithal to move forward in a healthy direction. But at least reading this book some folx will come to terms with the truth.
Thank you Stuart Stevens, for writing it.

Historia
The story of Donald Trump’s rise to power is the story of a buried American history - buried because people in power liked it that way. It was visible without being seen, influential without being named, ubiquitous without being overt. Sarah Kendzior’s Hiding in Plain Sight pulls back the veil on a history spanning decades, a history of an American autocrat in the making. In doing so, she reveals how our continual loss of freedom, the rise of consolidated corruption, and the secrets behind a burgeoning autocratic United States have been hiding in plain sight for decades.

Her 1st book View from Flyover country gives a deep understanding of Mid West America from one its residents.
This bk Hiding in Plain Sight us thorough.
The notes alone are def worth a read. But the book poignantly reflects on some of the most overlooked points that America refuses to acknowledge: racism, authoritarianism + our collective refusal of calling things as they are.
She loves America as do I.
Folx should listen well knowledgeable experts come forth.
Thank you, Sarah.
Looking forward to the next book!

Def worth a read/listen. While the historical references were particularly examined + necessary it left me wanting more. Well written. Although, I felt it took me through a deep dive on many aspects, there were moments I wish were more detailed + the avenues addressed could’ve been explored a little further. I definitely recommend this to those who have always had one perspective + are open enough to listen to others.
