no fluff. the story moved forward all the time.

the world being built from start to finish was crafted really well. the tension slowly being built was expertly executed. some small twists I saw coming while others, I did not. the characters in this story were fleshed out organically by the narrator. I could really feel the passion and tension in every situation from nervousness of dying or fear of friends failing. one of the best books I've listened to this year.

give the MC some time. the writer does something incredible with the MC throughout the book series. I'm coming back now to write a review after completing through book 4. it's like you can feel the development of the MC not only in terms of power like you would see in DragonBallZ but emontional maturity and can also be explained with the story. very well done. it hurts me to see the 1 star reviews because I can think back to when I read the first book and struggled with the MC but later was kicking myself for being so critical. I would have missed a fantastic series much like some of the 1 star reviewers.

This book brought out the big boys. All the growth that has been building up on the Nelson's has been leading up to this. Big bosses finally show up. I'm really digging Jackson's storyline. It's crazy how a character grows on you. There is a lot to look forward in this story but I'm glad I got to see some other family members get their shot.

A mostly lighthearted book that highlights a support character in the coolest way possible. I loved all of the 80's call backs and infomercials. This was a fun read to say the least. It takes apocalyptic litrpg and almost instant crafting to power up in fun and unusual ways. I was so drawn into the story that didn't realize it was over until the thank you for listening came up. It's not what I would call short book but felt like I blew through it.

Great start to a new new series. Loved the God touched series. This one is a bit more closer to home in that it's a possibility of actually happening. I feel like the story flowed really well from beginning to end. No lulls to speak of. The MC and other characters were fleshed out well and looking forward to that more in future books.

This book was really well done. Very interesting set up. Everyone that looks for an MC that isn't an idiot needs to come check this one out. Lots and lots of action. The world building slowly came together but so focused on the action and what was going on with the MC, that it was acceptable. In the end, all of it came together. Most questions were answered and left way open for a sequel.

Not what I first thought, but...

This may have been my own fault for thinking this story would be different. I was imagining an all powerful GM just wrecking some code. But what I got was a story that all came together at the end in a well crafted way that I expect from these 2 authors on their own. Very different from my initial expectation but really well done was also the other cast in the book. It was a slow progression that built up to a really well done finish. The end of the book blew me away. There was some foreshadowing for sure but the delivery, was expertly done.

This story was really well thought out. The story progressed really well. I was really attached to the two MCs early on. The narrators were excellent. I've talked to people that say that they either love Wil weaton or hate him. I love his work. And in sorry that I can't remember who narrated Mission, but whoa!! She did an excellent job. I feel like she really reached the depth of mission emotionally. I like her as an actress but I feel like she may be an even better narrator.

great book and can't wait for the next one. just one more credit. I like how this book Tad started to recognize and overcome his grudges and shortcomings as well as level up.
