Historia
Abbie awakens in a daze with no memory of who she is or how she landed in this unsettling condition. The man by her side claims to be her husband. He’s a titan of the tech world, the founder of one of Silicon Valley’s most innovative start-ups. He tells Abbie that she is the perfect wife. He says she had a terrible accident five years ago and that, through a huge technological breakthrough, she has been brought back from the abyss. But as Abbie pieces together memories of her marriage, she begins to question her husband’s motives - and his version of events.

Pulls you in!
Revisado: 02-17-25
I’m not usually a fan of SciFi but this story really pulls you in from the beginning. So much so, you forget the main character is a robot! Great storytelling with lots of twists and turns. However, it really fell apart for me in the end and became a sort of jumbled mess. Such a shame because it’s otherwise a great storytelling and the narrators are amazing!

I’m not sure if it is Sterling’s soothing voice, or the sweet story, or the combination of the two, but this story knocks me out in less than five minutes every time. Just listen to it, and you will be hooked!

I don’t know. Because I could not listen to the book. Because 30 seconds in the narrator was just so annoying.

I tried…but narration sounds like AI
Revisado: 11-17-23
The narrator has a sing song up and down cadence that would drive me to madness if I actually finished all eight hours of this book. The plot itself is confusing and chock-full of clichés. I really tried, but couldn’t get past two hours of the book. On a positive note, the fact that this author has published so many books and has a small following gives me hope that maybe one day I actually can write that novel I’ve been wanting to write.

Historia
Grace Holloway keeps to herself. Since narrowly escaping death at the hands of the man who kidnapped her, she’s thrown herself into the small inn she runs in Rock Harbor, Maine. It’s quiet, quaint and, in the off-season, completely isolated—the perfect place for Grace to keep her own secrets. But Grace isn’t the only one with something to hide, and Rock Harbor isn’t just a sleepy vacation town. Someone is taking young women—girls who look an awful lot like Grace did when she was kidnapped so many years ago.

Confusing storyline
Revisado: 11-01-23
This was just okay. It flips back and forth between characters which is confusing particularly at the beginning. I lost interest half way through but still finished it. Lame ending.

Excellent book with painful narration
Revisado: 10-05-23
Why oh why do authors insist on narrating their own books? The narration is monotone and robotic. Too bad because the content is great—helpful and illustrative examples. Should have bought the book.

Historia
"This is a very difficult letter to write. I hope you will not hate us too much.... My son broke into your home recently while you were out." In a quiet, leafy suburb in upstate New York, a teenager has been sneaking into houses - and into the owners' computers as well - learning their secrets, and maybe sharing some of them, too. Who is he, and what might he have uncovered? After two anonymous letters are received, whispers start to circulate, and suspicion mounts. And when a woman down the street is found murdered, the tension reaches the breaking point.

Surprised at all the great reviews
Revisado: 08-31-23
I'm pretty surprised at all of the great reviews since this story is just a mediocre mystery. One of the problems is that the characters are very boring and unlikable. Especially Olivia who does something really really dumb early on and is impossible to take seriously. It starts off pretty strong and interesting but soon unravels into a boring and confusing mess of characters. The two investigators actually seem to be the most clever of all of the characters and I think it would have been more interesting to tell the story from their point of view. All of the "she said" and "he said" dialogue made me crazy too by the end of the book. I would not recommend spending a credit on this snoozer.
