Built To Last, the defining management study of the 90s, showed how great companies triumph over time and how long-term sustained performance can be engineered into the DNA of an enterprise from the very beginning. But what about companies that are not born with great DNA? How can good companies, mediocre companies, even bad companies achieve enduring greatness?

Overall an Excellent Listen
Revisado: 05-28-21
Overall an excellent listen. Fascinating achievements by Mr. Schwarzman. Lessons are very valuable in this book and title is appropriate for the contents. Some of the details of his deals are too wordy and boring for a person like me who is not in finance or business and is only getting into the game right now but nevertheless I can see how he cannot make a point without those details. On one hand, this gives me a detail and practical understanding of the (predominately White) privilege and enormous opportunities that rich American have in this society where they all go to prestige universities and know each other in their own close network of finance, business and politics etc. On the other hand, it does create a unique perspective for a minority person and an immigrant like me to make a choice between pursuing my ambitions in this land of enormous opportunities or blame the system for placing wealthy individuals at an unfair advantage and finding excuses for my own shortcomings. Choice is clear and America is a land of opportunity and nothing is beyond anyone's reach in this beautiful country if they are willing to do "what it takes" . Thanks for sharing your knowledge, perspective on life, business and beyond.

If you need a motivational speech, go for it
Revisado: 01-26-21
This is an excellent book for high school kids and anyone else who needs motivation speech.
That is it, the following sentence will summarize the book. Work hard, minimize your expenses, limit debt, and save money, add to 401 K and your will be millionaire after 30 years of hard work.
It does not take into consideration below...
And once you are millionaire, you will realize that money is so devalued that that millionaire title might not help you gain financial freedom or early retirement anyways.
Please also listen to Rich dad/ poor dad and unfair advantage by Robert Kiosaki to see the other side of coin.
So these 2 books are on opposite spectrum.
Truth likely lies somewhere in the middle.

Definitely worth your time
Revisado: 01-26-21
Now this is a continuation of Rich dad poor dad. Not a well written book by any means including abundant repetitions. However, this is definitely a must read for real world finances where you have Robert peaches unconventional financial wisdom as oppose to mainstream thinking and advice.
Everyone is different and has life goals accordingly. and If you are happy with a job, working for money, and adding money to 401 K, nothing wrong with it. But if you want to see something beyond.. read this book.
I gave 4 stars as I believe he exaggerates the other side of conventional wisdom as to say that world is ending/ government official and treasury is crook and you will loose everything if you continue in conventional pathway and social security is a scam etc. Read w/ a grain of salt and your taste.
Finally, definitely worth my time. Thank you
