Incredibly thought provoking. I learned so much. This book is well written and full of facts and details that make the story come alive. I have great respect for the struggles Lincoln endured and how deftly he weathered them. The arguments of the white southerners seem so ridiculous and cringe worthy to my ears. I am so glad they were on the wrong side of history!

Some interesting info but bizarre reading

I call BS on the tons of 5 star reviews made on the same day and with no mention of the horrible, distracting English. Every other sentence has mismatched subject and verb conjugation and completely wrong words used. Like costumes instead of customers. I found myself going “huh?” throughout the book. It’s like no one edited the material and the narrator must not speak English as a first language because no one talks like that. It took away from the material.

We really have come a long way, baby! This was so interesting. While I knew life was hard back then, I didn’t know the details. So many rules! So many ridiculous rules! And the male doctors! Try not to throw a fit in disgust, lest you be labeled hysterical. Totally worth a credit.

I binged listened to this book. It was so good. The narrator was excellent. As a child of the 80’s, I enjoyed the many references to all things -games,music, TV, movies and clothes-of the era. I found the story engaging and I hope the movie will be just as good.

What did you love best about Thou Shalt Laugh?
Didn't know what to expect with "clean" comedy, but it is actually very funny. Think about it... Without all the F-bombs of your average comedian uses to fall back on, these guys had to come up with solid material. They delivered!

Can't think of one. Lots of laughs.
