Strange portrayal of males
Revisado: 04-08-22
The males in this series are strange. Men aren’t allowed to have an opinion in Estes Park? It’s like reading the island of misfit males.
The series was light at the start, but now it’s weighed down with so much internal monologue that reading it feels like dragging your feet through a muddy swamp: heavy and exhausting.
Some of the lines are ridiculous too: “you promised my dog that you would never hurt his mother.” That’s a strange reaction by a 40 year old woman.
Fred’s reactions throughout are very strange and illogical and this story made her unlikable.

Chapter 11
Revisado: 03-29-22
That’s it. I stopped listening during chapter 11 because I have no idea what was being said.

Historia
The cold, blustery Midwest winters don't exactly agree with Betsy Devonshire, but since moving to Excelsior, Minnestoa, she sure has met a lot of warm, friendly people. So she isn't too surprised when the town's most talented needleworkers volunteer to restore a damaged tapestry that was found in the basement of a local church. Betsy even offers to donate materials for the project, thinking that the free publicity will boost sales at her financially troubled needlecraft shop. But soon Betsy is afraid of losing more than her business....

Who came first? Betsy Devonshire or Hannah Swensen
Revisado: 03-27-22
I can’t decide who wrote first Joanne Fluke or Monica Ferris. These are the Hannah Swensen mysteries in needlepoint. Betsy looks through her fingers, Hannah and all her sisters do too. Long conversations about hot dish vs casseroles. Chocolate has chemicals that make you feel better.
And the solution to the mystery? Garbage.
Why are needlepoint perps so stupid? The perp is smart enough to read the hidden clues in the tapestry, successfully steals the tapestry, but doesn’t burn the tapestry, but instead develops a scheme to try and convince a biddie that her life is in danger? Who has time to do these things? It was a “difficult to accept” story.
