Historia
Terra is besieged. The outcome of the war lies on a knife edge. The Warmaster Horus’ bloody seven-year crusade has led to this – the cradle of humanity, where he is to kill his father, the Emperor. With the war at this critical juncture, Sanguinius, primarch of the loyalist Blood Angels, braves the horrors of the Warmaster’s flagship, The Vengeful Spirit, with a single purpose in mind – to slay his brother Horus, decapitate the Heresy once and for all, and stop the forces of Chaos from taking Terra.

Historia
The Inner Walls are breached. Traitor vanguards tear towards the heart of the Palace, sensing victory. Desperate gambits are attempted: an unwilling saint is released into the ruins, as well as an enthusiastic sinner. A black sword rises, forged from spite, ready to create a legend. But amid the slaughter, Jaghatai Khan, Warhawk of Chogoris, prepares to launch the most audacious strike of the conflict. His goal is nothing less than the liberation of the Lion's Gate space port.

The narrator of this book is what 40k needs
Revisado: 08-06-21
I know I'll enjoy the story so I don't mind rating this soon, and by this soon I mean I'm only on chapter three.
I'm usually super apprehensive about a 40k audiobook I see a new narrator I haven't seen before because in my experience I don't end up liking them very much and in some cases it completely ruins the book altogether. but this Bruce Mackinnon is a breath of fresh air and his voice acting is top notch. he brings depth and emotion to these characters that is lacking in a lot of audiobooks in general and I cannot wait to hear more of him in the 40k universe

Another work of literary art from Guy Haley
Revisado: 07-15-21
I personally have been into wh40k for almost 2 decades but have never actually played the tabletop, ive always hunted lore and read the novels so I've always loved what I can get my hands on. When the Primarch Guilliman returned and further shook the 40k universe with the Primaris the story telling had to not only fit in with the current timeline but also the Horus Heresy Era as well which is still in the process of being written. The best and honestly only choice for an author to this series was Guy Haley and from start to finish it has been a work of art. The attention to character detail and dialog for Guilliman is amazing, the introduction and blending in of the primaris is masterfully done and for me one of my favorite things to read in the current 40k.

Historia
Ahriman, greatest sorcerer of the Thousand Sons and architect of the Rubric that laid his Legion low, continues to walk the path towards salvation, or damnation. Searching for a cure for his Legion, he is forced to consider - was the great ritual somehow flawed from the very beginning? The answer may lie within the mysterious artefact known as the Athenaeum of Kalimakus, a grimoire of forgotten knowledge that is reputed to contain the exact words of the lost Book of Magnus...or, perhaps, even a transcription of the primarch’s deepest and most secret thoughts.

Definitely not a fan of the narrator
Revisado: 05-03-21
there's hundreds if not thousands of hours of WH40k audio content to listen to go get an example of how to voice certain types of characters in this universe or how to pronounce certain words and this guy so far (and I'm not even an hour in) has missed the mark on both especially the Space Wolves and Ahriman who is one of the most famous characters in the setting
