Historia
In this uncompromising investigation into today’s most urgent issues, Naomi Wolf uses her own wildly politicized pilgrimage—from New York Times bestselling author and high-level Democratic consultant to a journalist cast out from the elite political and social circles she once moved through—as a stunning narrative framework that is both chilling and incisive.

This is a "Must Read/Listen"book
Revisado: 11-19-23
This is a GREAT book! It details and captures so many of the emotions of what we experienced with the COVID years. She is a wonderful story teller. This was a necessary book to document for history what really happened. I especially enjoyed her description of the 1st and 2nd Amendment, and how one can change their perspective on such important matters.
I always enjoy when the author reads their own book, but I understand sometimes its not possible. Having said that, I though Carolyn White did a really nice job.
Thank you Naomi Wolf for being on the front line of bringing us the truth.

Historia
The Bodies of Others is about how we came to the harrowing civilizational crossroads at which we find ourselves—engaged in a war against vast impersonal forces with limitless power over our lives and which threaten the freedoms we have always taken for granted. In her most provocative book yet, Dr. Naomi Wolf shows how these forces—from Big Tech and Big Pharma to the CCP and our oligarchical elites—seized upon two years of COVID-19 panic in sinister new ways, to not only undermine our republic but to fundamentally reorient human relations.

Historia
We are living through the most prosperous age in all of human history, yet we are listless, divided, and miserable. Wealth and comfort are unparalleled, but our political landscape is unmoored, and rates of suicide, loneliness, and chronic illness continue to skyrocket. How do we explain the gap between these truths? And how should we respond? For evolutionary biologists Heather Heying and Bret Weinstein, the cause of our troubles is clear: The accelerating rate of change in the modern world has outstripped the capacity of our brains and bodies to adapt.

Wonderful book - Truly a must read / listen
Revisado: 09-27-21
First, I'm so happy Heather and Bret read this Audible book themselves. In my opinion, it does make a difference.
Second, I suspect that, as Heather calls them, "the ragtag bunch of entitled college students" think they won their small battle at Evergreen by getting rid of Bret and Heather. But,as the saying goes, the unintended consequences of their action turned out to be much bigger - they gave Bret and Heather to the rest of the world. We are eternally grateful to them.
Their are only a few books I read (listened) that I immediately re-read it just because its such a wonderful book. This is one of those books for me.

Though it started nicely, but then he gave a warped version of Travon Martin death. He had his facts so distorted on the Travon incident that I would be doubtful of anything further in his actual story line.

Historia
In 2020, the world faced its biggest crisis in a generation: a global pandemic. In the UK, it exposed deep divisions within society and laid bare a toxic culture war that had been raging beneath the surface. From the outset, Piers Morgan urged the nation to come to its senses, once and for all, and held the government to often ferocious account over its handling of the crisis. COVID-19 shed shocking light on the problems that plague our country. Stockpilers and lockdown-cheats revealed our grotesque levels of self-interest.

Started good, but then his true colors came out
Revisado: 11-06-20
For the first third of the book, I enjoyed his stories. Then the pandemic hit the world and Piers Morgan showed his true colors. He showed us he has a condition called Narcissistic personality disorder. His gloom and doom message started, and every story thereafter was very hard to listen to. The British government (and Boris Johnson) was doing everything wrong, the US (and Donald Trump) was doing everything wrong. His story line about the riots that began with the death of George Floyd in the US was totally wrong. His vision of the US as a system racist country was totally wrong. He even was able to praise the efforts of Colin Kaepernick. Piers Morgan has a distorted view of the world issues, and he tells us know how everyone else has it wrong, and he is right. Don't bother with his book.

Historia
In 2012, on his third tour of duty in Afghanistan, an improvised explosive device left Dan Crenshaw's right eye destroyed and his left blinded. Only through the careful hand of his surgeons, and what doctors called a miracle, did Crenshaw's left eye recover partial vision. And yet, he persevered, completing two more deployments. Why? There are certain stories we tell ourselves about the hardships we face—we can become paralyzed by adversity or we can adapt and overcome. We can be fragile or we can find our fortitude. Crenshaw delivers a set of lessons to help you do just that.

A MUST READ
Revisado: 05-29-20
I could only hope that a lot of people read this book. It is so inspiring, and written with such thoughtfulness. Not being a Texan, I can only hope that Dan runs for President some day, so I would have the pleasure to vote for him. I am also thankful that Dan read his book himself, so we could hear the passion and conviction of his words.
I have listened to his ethos multiple times and would like to make a suggestion to Dan. I would love (and buy) a signed copy of your ethos in a picture frame size, if you would consider doing such a thing. This ethos is an important message that needs a prominent place in so many homes.

Historia
Justice Anthony Kennedy slipped out of the Supreme Court building on June 27, 2018, and traveled incognito to the White House to inform President Donald Trump that he was retiring, setting in motion a political process that his successor, Brett Kavanaugh, would denounce three months later as a "national disgrace" and a "circus". Justice on Trial, the definitive insider's account of Kavanaugh's appointment to the Supreme Court, is based on extraordinary access to more than 100 key figures - including the president, justices, and senators - in that ferocious political drama.

Excellent Book - A Must Read
Revisado: 07-31-19
This is a great story about the Justice Kavanaugh saga told by two excellent story tellers. Mollie Hemingway and Carrie Severino did a masterful job of putting together the entire story. And the added bonus is that they both read different sections of the book, I love it when the author(s) read their own book to us - it adds so much to the story.
I think everyone remotely interested in the very historic saga of the Kavanaugh confirmation story should read (listen) to this book. Bravo to the authors.

Historia
Without John C. Houbolt, a mid-level engineer at NASA, Apollo 11 would never have made it to the moon. Top NASA engineers on the project, including Werner Von Braun, strongly advocated for a single, huge spacecraft to travel to the moon, land, and return to Earth. It's the scenario used in 1950s cartoons and horror movies about traveling to outer space. Houbolt had another idea: Lunar Orbit Rendezvous. LOR would link two spacecraft in orbit while the crafts were travelling at 3,600 miles an hour around the moon. His plan was ridiculed and considered unthinkable.

Interesting story, but he's so egotistical!!
Revisado: 07-10-19
The title for this book could be "The Man Who Killed Off the Space Program". John Houbolt, with his huge ego, did everything wrong with trying to convince NASA that HIS idea was right, and everyone else was wrong. I can only imagine if Wernher von Braun had been able to follow through with his idea of a space station idea to get to the moon - and Mars, we would not have given up on the space program after the Apollo program was terminated. We shouldn't put John Houbolt on a pedestal doing all the wrong things he did to push ideas, just because in the end, it was successful. It was short-sighted thinking. And to go several levels above his pay grade was way out of bounds. Can you imagine how any business or government program could fail if "everyone" complained and whined how wrong everyone else was. He sounded whiny and egotistical about this his entire life. And I thought it was telling that he dumped NASA after convincing everyone to go with his idea, and not follow thru with it - just for more money.
But, it was a very interesting story, and Todd Zwillich did a great job telling the story. I will certainly look for future stories from this author.
