Historia
Turning the other cheek does not mean standing by while the enemies of God dismantle Christian civilization and brainwash our children. Decrying the cowardice that masquerades as meekness, Eric Metaxas summons the Church to battle. An attenuated and unbiblical “faith” based on what Bonhoeffer called “cheap grace” has sapped the spiritual vitality of millions of Americans. Paying lip service to an insipid “evangelism,” they shrink from combating the evils of our time. Metaxas refutes the pernicious lie that fighting evil politicizes Christianity.

An honest and sobering reminder that we’re all called to action.
Revisado: 10-18-24
The author’s comparison is a challenging one. It is a comparison all believers in the United States need to hear before it is too late.

Historia
It was to be the war to end all wars, and it began at 11:15 on the morning of June 28, 1914, in an outpost of the Austro-Hungarian Empire called Sarajevo. It would officially end nearly five years later. Unofficially, however, it has never ended: Many of the horrors we live with today are rooted in the First World War. The Great War left millions of civilians and soldiers maimed or dead. It also saw the creation of new technologies of destruction: tanks, planes, and submarines; machine guns and field artillery; poison gas and chemical warfare.

Sweeping historical account with personal connections
Revisado: 02-28-23
I love to study history. World War I has been a passion of mine for a couple of years. I learned many new things here. What I appreciated the most was the connection to individuals, their suffering, and their triumphs.

Battle: The Story of the Bulge, John Toland's first work of military history, recounts the saga of beleaguered American troops as they resisted Hitler's deadly counter offensive in World War II's Battle of the Bulge - and turned it into an Allied victory. It is a gripping work, painstakingly researched and imbued with such vivid detail that listeners will feel as though they themselves witnessed these events. This is a book not to be missed by anyone interested in this tumultuous era of our world's history.

Historia
Everyone has two remarkable, related capacities. We can aspire to something more and we can envision ways to achieve it. But if we're capable of aspiring to something better and making effective plans, why is it sometimes so hard to reach that next level of success? Drawing upon the latest insights from the fields of performance psychology, neuroscience, and cognitive science, as well as case studies from their own clients, bestselling authors Michael Hyatt and Megan Hyatt Miller explore the power of ideas to shape superior outcomes not only in business but in the rest of life.

Book for anyone trying to do anything!
Revisado: 01-31-23
This book is a MUST-READ for everyone who is trying to do anything! Is that too general? I thought so as well until I read this book. My “narrator” had me believing well-worn half-truths about what was possible. Have you ever heard the tongue-in-cheek saying, “Don’t believe everything you think”? It is true. Our minds do not always tell us the whole story or the best story. I love how the authors, Michael Hyatt and Megan Hyatt Miller, bring complex neuroscience and case studies to retell their own experiences and give practical applications. There are a lot of books that bring up issues and concerns. I prefer books that give me action steps and processes to correct issues they bring up. This book does just that. I strongly encourage everyone to pick it up.
