Historia
Alexander Southerland is hired to discover how a teenage boy is disappearing at night without passing through any doors or windows. Next thing Southerland knows, he’s shackled to an altar while a hungry spirit prepares to sacrifice him to “the toothless one who brings nothing but good.” Southerland soon finds himself negotiating a minefield of dream-hopping supernatural spirits, howler monkeys, a homicidal client, a shotgun-wielding spinster, and a whistling demon.

Another good one
Revisado: 01-02-25
This is another entertaining book in this series. The author of this series really researches some old folklore to come up with interesting sinister characters. That combined with the wonderful Duffy P. Weber as the narrator. Makes for a highly entertaining listen. The author & narrator are a perfect combo! Never boring or repetitive.
Love the series, more Smokey in the next one please !

Another fun ride !
Revisado: 01-02-25
Full disclosure Douglas is my amazing cousin.
This book is another fun ride, as all of his books are well written & clever. I love the characters, they are interestingly unique that's what makes the story interesting for me.
Duffy P. Weber is the perfect performer for all of the Alexander Southerland PI books in my opinion ! He has a hardly believable voice range, all of the characters voices completely different. I was completely entertained through the whole book.
Another really good book!

Historia
Alex Southerland is back, along with Smokey and Badass. Our hardboiled private dick and elementalist is searching the mean streets of the city for the secret behind a deadly curse. It all starts during a rare Yerba City heat wave when a witch with strange snake tats winding up her gams walks into his office to report that she has committed a murder. Thing is, the murdered man isn't dead, and, well, it's complicated.

This book was a very fun read!
Revisado: 03-10-21
I like this author and narrartor combo a lot ! This author is interesting in the way he weaves parts of Aztec culture into the fantasy, what makes it extra fun is the very talented narrartor, he has many voices that absolutly bring the charaters to life ! It held my interest all the way through, with lots of twists & turns.
I definatly recommend.

This is a new author & genre for me. I was looking for a fun imaginative listen, this fit the bill ! Well written , with nicely developed charaters. It held my interest & liked it very much. The narrarator did a great job, he has quite the repertoire of different voices that really made the charaters & story come to life !
I will definitetly listen to the next book by this author & narrarator.
