Never really got off the ground
Revisado: 04-23-23
The plot was kind of flat. There wasn't anything in the story to draw you into it. I wouldn't recommend.

Historia
For much of his life, historian Howard Zinn chronicled American history from the bottom up, throwing out the official version taught in schools - with its emphasis on great men in high places - to focus on the street, the home, and the workplace. Known for its lively, clear prose as well as its scholarly research, A People's History of the United States is the only volume to tell America's story from the point of view of - and in the words of - America's women, factory workers, African-Americans, Native Americans, the working poor, and immigrant laborers.

Garbage Book, Author Hates America
Revisado: 04-16-23
I have never read a book that made me angry at the author then this one. Chapter after chapter is pure negativity on the founding and growth of this great nation. I agree that some of our history was ugly but this doesn't bring out one good point. You get the feeling that, from his statements, the nation should not have survived. The major problem is he falls in the trap of using today's morality against the history and times of hundreds of in the past. A author writing history should stay to the facts, he wanders off into morality judgements and conjectures base on the present or that aren't even true. This is a warning to all possible future readers that love this great nation that this book, though factual, seems to be written by someone who hates this country. It is not worth your time.

Historia
When someone makes a present of a fer-de-lance - the dreaded snake - to Nero Wolfe, Archie Goodwin knows he's close to solving two apparently unrelated murders. As for Wolfe, he's playing snake charmer in a case more deadly than a cobra and whistling a seductive tune he hopes will catch a killer with poison in his heart.

Historia
Set in present-day Los Angeles, Junk explores an epic conspiracy, one at work for thousands of years that involves total takeover of the planet Earth by aliens. In the wild, souped-up vision of Les Bohem - the acclaimed, Emmy-winning writer of the Steven Spielberg miniseries, Taken - the world is at the end stage of long-range plot that involves a gigantic genetic-engineering project. The aliens who have invaded us have no planet. No spaceship is coming. Instead, a small advance force comes, breeds, and dies - thus becoming an anomaly in our DNA that can’t be explained.

The very beginning was very disjointed
Revisado: 10-31-20
The very beginning was very disjointed. Very difficult to follow the characters. I had to listen to chapters a couple of times to understand what was going on. Also noticed a couple of times the author contradicted himself in later passages. I would also say a lot of the basic story line was copied from Steven King's The Stand.

I really enjoy the Peter Grant novels narrated by Smith. I liked the thought of expanding into another country but this went a little slow.

After their last wild adventure, the Flock members are taken under the wing of an FBI agent and try to live "normal" lives by going to school, making friends - and continuing their relentless search for their parents. But the Erasers return, forcing the Flock to abandon their search and make their escape once again. The voice inside Max's head keeps telling her that it's up to her to save the world, but this is especially challenging to do when she is faced with her ultimate match: a newer and better version of herself, Maximum Ride II.

Exceptional Story, Well Told
Revisado: 04-08-19
One of the greatest things that I enjoy about a drama wrapped in true history is it pushes me to read more of that history. There was so many points in this story I had never heard of. Learning these and seeing how the author wrapped his characters in those points of history makes the entire drama take on it's own life. Learning that politicians were as bad back then as they are now, for almost the exact same reasons.
