The author went into great detail on each family member. The whole story reads as someone reading individual family member diaries of what is going on in their lives. Their stories are intertwined so the individuality blends well with the whole story.
It’s a story of a strong family through almost 12 months of their lives. They have hardships & loss but support each other.
I wouldn’t say the reader developed voices well. It’s written so that you can keep up with who is speaking. And it’s all read at a clipped pace.
It was ok.

Friendship & Love

This has been a very detailed story. Great character development which we all get to experience, sometimes in painful ways, right along with the characters. There were time I wanted to put the story away due to all the emotions.
I encourage you to either use a credit or spend your money to own this story.
I usually to stories I own over again. It will take some time before I go back and listen to this amazing, loving story of BFFs.

The story continues

This well developed story, with colorful characters continues. I just love these folks, (you should hear that sentence in Cleo’s accent)!
I’m listening for the second time. I enjoy listening in on their lives. The narrator really developed these character’s voices as well as NR developed this story.
This story ends by setting up the next part of the story. If you haven’t listened to Inheritance, the 1st book in the series, you need to so you’ll get the full picture.

Heart wrenching & enlightening

At this moment, as the final credits fade away, I can’t recall another story that has moved me so much!
This story led me to research the Siege of Leningrad and to learn more about that part of the world and its history.
This story is also an amazing story of love through unfathomable hardships.
Please consider purchasing this story. It’s absolutely worth it.

Couldn’t stop listening!

I lived in Alaska for 25 years. heard stories from those that survived the great earthquake and had homesteads on the Kenai Peninsula. This story is wonderful and heartbreaking I was sucked into the story immediately. Spend your money or use a credit, this o e is worth it.

The story, true story, is what stood out. A story of faith, hope, & love!

I absolutely loved this book, even though there were times my heart broke for Martin, I understand he has made an amazing life by overcoming the trials he encountered. I’d love to meet him & his family to let them know what a strong impact their story has made on me. My very best to all of them!

WOW! WOW!! WOW!!!

This is my 1st book by this author and it won’t be my last! What a ride! A fantastic “who done it” or who is doing what. It is absolutely with the credit or cash to purchase.
I don’t want to give anything away but the deeper the story went, the closer to the edge of my seat I was sitting! Plenty of twists in here.
Check it out, you won’t regret it.

Fantastic! Left me wanting more!

WOW! I totally got lost in this story. As the last chapter approached, I realized this wasn’t a typical trilogy by NR. A great foundation has been laid out, but it ends as you are ready to see what happens next! It’s a great place to pause/end one book though. But man am I ready for the next.
I’ll just have to read other great books until 2 of 3 comes along.

I’m so glad I found this series. The first book started a little slow for me but now I understand it was just setting the foundation of
characters, locations, & issues of the past as well as those to come.
Once I finished #1 I went straight into books 2 & 3. Now I’m finished and I miss the characters already!
