Historia
A year has passed since LAPD detective Renée Ballard quit the force in the face of misogyny, demoralization, and endless red tape. But after the chief of police himself tells her she can write her own ticket within the department, Ballard takes back her badge, leaving “the Late Show” to rebuild and lead the cold case unit at the elite Robbery-Homicide Division.

Michael Connelly’s best to date!!!
Revisado: 11-22-22
Great read! Harry Bosch is his usual brilliant self and with Renee Ballard works to bring justice to the victims of crime! This story was so absorbing , sensitive and the last few lines of the book made me cry!! Mickey Haller makes a brief appearance and I expect there will be a sequel or another part to this book! Michael Connelly’s best book!!

Nora Stephens' life is books—she’s read them all—and she is not that type of heroine. Not the plucky one, not the laidback dream girl, and especially not the sweetheart. In fact, the only people Nora is a heroine for are her clients, for whom she lands enormous deals as a cutthroat literary agent, and her beloved little sister Libby.

Historia
When Indian American journalist Smita returns to India to write the story of a young widow Meena and the murder of her husband, it’s Smita’s first time back since her family left when she was a child. Both Smita and Meena were raised in a culture where a woman exercising a basic human right - the right to love and marry whoever she chooses - is met with brutal punishment. While Meena’s fate hangs in the balance, Smita must reckon with the privilege that becoming an American has given her, as well as face the trauma that shaped her as a child and led to her family leaving.

Historia
Indian American journalist Smita has returned to India to cover a story, but reluctantly: long ago she and her family left the country with no intention of ever coming back. As she follows the case of Meena—a Hindu woman attacked by members of her own village and her own family for marrying a Muslim man—Smita comes face to face with a society where tradition carries more weight than one’s own heart, and a story that threatens to unearth the painful secrets of Smita’s own past.

Historia
Franny Doyle is having the worst day. She’s been laid off from her (admittedly mediocre) job, the subway doors ripped her favorite silk dress to ruins, and now she’s flashed her unmentionables to half of lower Manhattan. On the plus side, a dashing stranger came to her rescue with his (Gucci!) suit jacket. On the not-so-plus side, he can’t get away from her fast enough. Worse yet? Someone posted their (entirely not) meet-cute online. Suddenly Franny and her knight-in-couture, Hayes Montgomery III, are the newest social media sensation, and all of New York is shipping #SubwayQTs.

Historia
There’s chaos in Hollywood at the end of the New Year’s Eve countdown. Working her graveyard shift, LAPD detective Renée Ballard waits out the traditional rain of lead as hundreds of revelers shoot their guns into the air. Only minutes after midnight, Ballard is called to a scene where a hardworking auto shop owner has been fatally hit by a bullet in the middle of a crowded street party.

Renee Ballard does not disappoint!! 4.5*
Revisado: 11-24-21
Another Renee Ballard / Harry Bosch book which kept me hooked to the book! Their investigation of two serial rapists was gripping and full of suspense! They are like peas in a pod ready to fight for justice and bring change at their own peril!Though Harry Bosch had a relatively smaller part in this book, I loved the book and give it 4.5*
Cant wait for Michael Connelly’s next book!

Richly deserving of 4 stars!
Revisado: 11-04-21
This is the first book I read by Naima Coster and was in for a treat!
The story revolves around Lacey May and her kids who are biracial ( Columbian father) and Jade a single black woman raising her son in Piedmont, North Carolina.
This is a simple story of regular Americans trying to get by/ get ahead of the game and their trials and tribulations!
There wasn’t a dull moment in this book and I e joyed reading it!

Obama Strikes Again*****
Revisado: 10-09-21
I’ve always been a big fan of President Obama and reading this book just confirmed all that I thought and believed of him! There aren’t enough words in the English language to describe him!
The book took us through his journey from the start of his presidency to the point of when he ( and the whole team) took down Osama Bin Laden!
He describes in great detail his thought process when he approaches a problem, the decisions he made and why he made them and shone through as a decent family man and Patriot!
Ofcourse, it wasn’t an easy read and I had to go back and read- read several passages and still can’t say I get all of it! But listening to his book on Audible was like having a honest conversation from an honest man!!
The greatest President of all times!
Thank you President Obama for all have done for the country and continue to do! The dignity of the office you maintained through all the politicking and mud slinging that continues !! God Bless you!

Sunjeev Sahota does not disappoint!
Revisado: 09-28-21
The story of The China Room is one that I’ve never heard or imagined before. A cunning, shrewd, evil mother-in-law who marries off her three sons to three girls without the girls knowing which brother is their husband!
The author’s writing style and unraveling of the facts are just superb! It’s like he coolly drops bombs in the form of words!
I would definitely rate it as4.5*
