Historia
Bobby Hale is a Union veteran several times over. After the war, he sets his sights on California, but only makes it to Montana. As he stumbles around the West, from the Wyoming Territory to the Black Hills of the Dakotas, he finds meaning in the people he meets - settlers and native people - and the violent history he both participates in and witnesses.

Historia
For many years, Camilla was portrayed in a poor light, blamed by the public for the break-up of the marriage between Prince Charles and Lady Diana. Initially, Queen Elizabeth refused to see or speak to her, but, since the death of Prince Philip, Camilla had become one of the Queen's closest companions. Her confidence in Camilla and the transformation she had seen in Prince Charles since their wedding resulted in her choosing the first day of her Platinum Jubilee year to tell the world that she wanted Camilla to be Queen Consort, not the demeaning Princess Consort suggested in 2005.

Great listen
Revisado: 02-28-24
I’ve admired Camilla for a very long time. It’s nice to know she is finally being recognized for all the good she has done and the positive role she plays in Royal Family. I thoroughly enjoyed this listen. I will look into Angela Levin’s other books.

Took a little to get used to the reader. Hearing stories of QEII’s humor and innate goodness was so enjoyable. A lot more goes into coordinating clothes and events than I ever realized.

Injustice is heartbreaking
Revisado: 12-24-23
Very well researched and presented. The more light that can be shown on this subject, the better. So sad there is such a disparity between justice being found for indigenous peoples and those of other races.

Historia
When the fishing vessel La Conte sinks suddenly at night in 100-mile-per-hour winds and record 90-foot seas during a savage storm in January 1998, her five crewmen are left to drift without a life raft in the freezing Alaskan waters and survive as best they can. One hundred fifty miles away, in Sitka, Alaska, an H-60 Jayhawk helicopter lifts off from America's most remote Coast Guard base in the hopes of tracking down an anonymous Mayday signal. A fisherman's worst nightmare has become a Coast Guard crew's desperate mission.

Great story, could not finish due to narrator
Revisado: 06-24-21
Narrators make or break an audible book for me. I am a life-long horse lover, was so interested in this story, but could not finish due to the narrator's voice and pronunciations. I so wish a different narrator had been chosen for this book. . . .

Great information
Revisado: 05-31-17
Loved the book and the information -- it was hard to get past the narrator, but I'm glad I did. Her annoying interpretations of the different researchers got old, but worth trying to ignore in order to hear the info in the book. Lots of great takeaways for improving health as we age.

Historia
Lane is a typical teenager - loving family, good grades, after-school job at the local animal hospital, martial arts enthusiast - but her secret obsession is studying serial killers. She understands them, knows what makes them tick. Why? Because she might be one herself. Lane channels her dark impulses by hunting criminals - delivering justice when the law fails. The vigilantism stops shy of murder. But with each visceral rush the line of self-control blurs. And then a young preschool teacher goes missing - only to return in parts.

Enjoyed right up til the end - then was a big disappointment
Revisado: 09-28-15
It was an interesting premise, and an interesting read, until the final twist. Maybe I should have seen it coming, but did not -- just seemed to be a totally contrived finish. Improbable and made me dislike the entire book.

Great story, hard narrator to listen to
Revisado: 07-08-15
I really enjoyed the story in this book, a lot of good detail, and interesting treatment of the subject matter. However, the narrator, at least for me, was extremely difficult to listen to. I would've enjoyed it a lot more with a different narrator.
