Excellent
Revisado: 02-14-17
This was an excellent book, so much more information than the film, yet enhancing the film. The film conflates some things as it has too but certainly captured and brought to life in a very relatable way this incredible history of these amazing black women. Well worth every penny.

Historia
The morning of her niece's wedding, Margo Just drinks a double martini and contemplates the many mistakes she's made in her fifty-odd years of life. Spending three decades in love with a wonderful but unattainable man is pretty high up on her list of missteps, as is a long line of unsuccessful love affairs accompanied by a seemingly endless supply of delicious cocktails.

Good yarn
Revisado: 10-12-16
I enjoyed this story - it was quirky and really well written. It's a pity this was her only novel.

Historia
At the beginning of their City careers, Becky Vitali and Tess Frant become friends. Becky is sharp and clever, and has had an upbringing she will never forget. Tess, meanwhile, was comfortably red in the shires. Supposedly rarities by virtue of their sex, they soon discover that the morality of money is far more important than the issue of gender, and how they balance the texture of their lives is combined with a tender and unexpected love story.

Against whose nature?!
Revisado: 10-02-16
I couldn't quite figure out what was against whose nature. It didnt seem to have a point. Mediocre when Elizabeth buchan is usually so much better.

Choices we make
Revisado: 07-15-15
I enjoyed the premise of this book and thought it was well realised. The characterisation was very good, although I found myself disliking Jim very much - more in some versions than others. I found that I didn't much care what happened to him.

One of her best

One of her best
Revisado: 06-29-15
This is one of her best. She captures the essence of what it feels like when a good happy marriage turns without there ever being a fight, or terrible things having happened, and the intractability of the one leaving. The choices made by the main character and the growth that comes from being thrown into a new life are well crafted.
