This is a great elaboration on the concept of “sitting down and actually doing your work” mentioned in The War of Art. I really prefer these books narrated by Pressfield and think he does an amazing job of adding emphasis where it matters most. Although this concept is mentioned in The War of Art this book is a great way of revisiting the action steps and like his other books Turning Pro & Nobody Wants to Read Your Shit it digs deeper into his advice on implementing this into your work/ life.

I love Gary. This isn’t criticism of him personally and I even agree with the points in the book. I think this point could be driven home in 30 minutes and could have taken way less than the 5 + hours this audiobook demands. That said Gary is right and if you only can read one book by him I’d recommend Crush It! Even if it’s older it still hits hard. Thanks Gary we appreciate you 🙏

This book changed my life forever in April of 2019. I was just hoping to find some kind of relief from Dr Sarno’s words and instead I was healed. It’s April 2021 and I’m happy to say that I live pain free after so many years of suffering through chronic pain.
Give yourself the gift of being open to the contents of this book and you will thank yourself. Sarno was ahead of his time but he will be remembered as heroic like so many of us that have been helped by his work think of him. Hope you all heal ❤️

I loved this audiobook. It elaborates Dr. Sarno’s discoveries in a way that further solidified the concepts for me. If you’ve read Dr. Sarno’s books this is well worth a listen. Steven has a great way of bringing the message and information to another level. I’m so grateful to have found both of them.

Thank you so much Mr. Ozanich. I’m so thankful to have come across both yours and Dr. Sarno’s books. Please if you’re suffering give this book a chance and read Dr. Sarno’s as well. I’m forever grateful to you both. I admire you for elaborating on the concepts of mind body healing and clearing some questions I had regarding TMS. I feel amazing.

This may help a teenage girl to some degree but in my opinion it is useless for any adult familiar with the self help/motivation genre of books. Seemed kind of unprofessional and certainly nothing to offer in terms of fantastic writing abilities. I'm sure Jen is nice and I wish her success but this book served me no benefit.

The book is insightful and minimal itself. I thought the narration was on point and better than the vast majority. I really liked the reader and will be looking for other audiobooks he read. Get rid of all your junk and move on!

What made the experience of listening to Design Is a Job the most enjoyable?

Im a working designer and illustrator but although I wished that I could attend school and get a degree I was not able to do so in my young adult years. There is priceless info in here that experience with big clients is the only school for alot of the info in this book. Great details and great narrator. Mike is a smart and skilled man.

Any additional comments?

Worth every penny for any designer. Few people have the experience that Mike does and even fewer have written a detailed and entertaining book about it. I have shared it with as many of my designer and illustrator friends. :)

Where does Choose Yourself! rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I like it alot and I think it is a better version of self help than you usually get! Worth the price many times over.

What other book might you compare Choose Yourself! to and why?

The book has many of the same concepts that I have read in other books but I think the value is in the delivery. Altucher has had successes and failures so the book comes across as realistic and actually practicable.

What about James Altucher’s performance did you like?

I like that he narrated the book too.

What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?

To choose yourself and to chose work that fits you better. He describes that by accepting work that you feel fits you more you will do a better job at it and be happier doing it.

Any additional comments?

Its worth the money and time. I have been following James on youtube and IG ever since. I like him :)
