Historia
A vibrant and powerful epic set against an alternate Bronze Age, this tale of gods, men and monsters, conspiracy and war, is a rich, compelling and original tale from a master of the historical and fantasy genres. The people caught up in toils of the gods are merely trying to survive. Victims of vicious whims, trapped by their circumstances or pushed beyond what the mortal frame can bear, a handful of god-touched mortals—a scribe, a warlord, a dancer and a child - are about to be brought together in a conspiracy of their own.

Excellent read
Revisado: 07-07-22
I enjoyed this book from start to finish. to me it seems like he nailed the balance between his modern writing styles and the old mythical Homeric Epics.
I think this will also catch the ear/eye of those who are into some of the old school RPGs like runequest/Glorantha or the Empire of the Petal throne/Tekumel setting.

It holds up well
Revisado: 12-29-20
I first read this book almost 20 years ago, and it holds up well. It's decent enough on it's own, with out the warhammer fantasy background. So if your a fan of fantasy horror light, but not a fan of warhammer, give it a try anyways. I think you will enjoy it.

Very enjoyable

It was a quick fun listen about a 1980s cold war gone hot. I hope there are more books from this author with a armor vs armor focus.

In the polluted, sprawling hive cities of Necromunda, life is short. From the decadent heights of the Spire to the murderous deeps of the underhive, those on the climb must be bold and brutal, or face a violent end. When the barbarous Fettnir, Goliath overlord of the Chemfall Butchers, turns his attention to Escher territory, the result is nothing short of a massacre. Brielle of the Wild Hydras escapes the slaughter and is cast into the deepest levels of the underhive.

Enjoyable experience
Revisado: 11-28-19
It was a pretty good story. Decent plot development and, descriptive action kept me listing long past my bed time.
Like other's noted the narrator is not the best at doing male voices, but it didn't break emerson for me.
Would like to hear more Necromanda books and would listen to the narrator again.

Great book, great description a grunts war.
Revisado: 04-05-19
those who have read any of Mr. Fraser's other books already know his gift for description. This book is a great view of an infantryman's war, with that entails.
The narrator is spot on with delivery and the accents.
I bought the hard copy of this book after listening. Would recommend for those interested in Burma, adventure, and a life experience most will never see.
